mucus discharge I think lily may be in the first stages of labor, she has,nt let me out of her sight all day. Whwn she went to the bathroom she had a little bloody mucus in it. Any idea how long it might take from here? |
How many days pregnant is she? It could be within 24 hrs. Genie |
Any puppies yet.............sounds like she is getting ready. When is her due date? |

Should I worry about the discharge if labor doesn't start soon? ( It occured @ 4:00 p.m. yesterday) |

Some of mine have the mucus up to 4 days before. . I never saw any blood though. Then their temp will go up and down too. Mine will lock in at about 97 -98 and then it's time. ( not always the case) Mine will go off food the day they are going to have pup. Also sometimes they have a gooie dark poop the day of. Good luck :) |

If she is just on day 60, she may have a few days or more to go...or not:rolleyes: I wouldn't be concerned about the discharge; if she is not any any distress I would assume all is progressing normally. Maybe she will go into labor tomorrow.....on "Labor" Day! :D (Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.) |

We have babies...3 boys one girl. We had to get a c-section. How long does the anethesia take to eradicate from the mother? |
Mine had a c-section at 1 in the afternoon and we were able to bring her home with the babies nursing at 4pm that same afternoon. |
wow! congratulations! Hows your little mama doing? |

Congratulations on your new little family. So sorry she needed a c-section but happy that all turned out well. Mom will probably be feeling better before to long. When everything has settled down, we'd love to see pics of the little beauties. |

Mine had a c-section also and I had to hold the puppy on her nipple to nurse or else she would stand up and walk away as the puppy was trying to suckle. She kept sleeping away from the puppy and refused to be his mom. This went on for like 3 -4 days. She didnt know this was her baby. I mean think about it. One day there are no puppies around and the next day there are these little puppies trying to suckle...it might take a few days for her hormones to kick in. Thats what happened to mine. I was scared at first and even had to syringe feed the newborn puppy for those first days. Mine also growled at her puppy. She was in pain for the first few days but by the 4th day she was doing very well. Weigh your puppies every morning to make sure they are gaining. Even if you have to sit on the floor and make sure all the puppies get milk. I didnt sleep the first week. By the 8th day I was sleeping through the night finally without having to get up every 2 hrs to supervise. Good Luck Genie,Cookie,Lola, Angel & Lucky |
