Day 56! We will be having babies any day now! My little girl is on day 56. Yesterday she went for x-rays and has 2 little ones to deliver. Yes, I have OBSESSED reading everything on the internet; every book in the library and spoken to many with experience. Only this is my first time delivering yorkies. I have delivered much bigger babies (labs) I have my whelping box, towels, broth, gloves, ky, thermometer, and much more in a box. She has been very clingy, which is fine...I like having her nearby and I don't plan to stray far from home in the next few days. So here we go...any time this week!!! Wahoo! I want to thank this community. There is so much experience and information here........ |
Best of luck! Hope she has an easy time whelping! :) |
:pI love puppy watch:p :thumbup:Good Luck:thumbup: |
Ooooo..........I love puppy watches too! How exciting for you. I have had one litter (last year - 4 puppies) and can hardly stand the wait til we can have more. It is such a miraculosly awesome experiance! Good luck with your whelp.....do keep us updated. Got any pictures of the PG mama for us?....we'd love to see them.:p |
Good luck.. Hopefully she will hold off one more week. Day 56 is way too early. They should be born right around day 63. keep us updated |
I think we're having babies tonight! 1 Attachment(s) Today is day 58.... She has been very restless and pacing. Not eating very much. Her temperature this morning was 99.6. This afternoon temp is 98.4. There is no sign of any contractions or any second stage labor. I have set everything up in our whelping room. I even put my coffee in there, a magazine and the charger for my cell phone. Called the vet to be "on call". Also,a friend who was a breeder for years, is on call. She is going to come over once labor begins to assist me (as this is my first with such a small dam). Ok...so it is only day 58 - not 63....and I'm nervous. My vet, who is not crazy about breeding, is assuming it will be a c-section...he is the same vet that told me to start her on calcium 2 weeks ago. Thanks to YT I didn't! I think I'm going to use my breeder friend and my gut instinct before running for a c-section. I do have to give the vet credit for being concerned-he has called every hour to check on her..........he means well. Dog watch-so exciting!!!! I'm going to try and attach a picture of the mama |
Good Luck can't wait to hear the news on her babies.:) |
Good Luck I'll be watching for updates. |
Good luck.... May you have a smooth whelping. |
Good luck we will all be waiting!!! |
still waiting.... There have been no changes...........I get a feeling she will decide to whlep at 2 am! I have my coffee pot set up and ready to brew at a moment's notice! |
Good luck..........hope all goes well; sure sounds like you have everything (and everyone) ready and waiting. Hopefully not to much longer....but they have a way of fooling you. Have you checked her temp this evening? |
Best of luck!!! Looks like you are all prepared(especially the coffee!LOL) and have back-up support from your friend!! |
false alarm??? not sure! Her temp this evening was 100.2 So what was all that about today? I wonder if I will still awoken in the middle of the night???? Any thoughts? She has not let me out of her sight all day....so cuddly! |
