How you microchip your own litter? Does anyone know how to microchip?:D |

I know it's cheaper to do it yourself, but man! Those needles are huge! The micochip is about the size of a grain of rice, so the needle has to be big enough to fit thru. I let the vet do it instead and it was painful just to watch. I can give the puppies shots, but not the microchip. |
THank you... I will study the link... I think I could do the microchip...but the tails and dewclaws... I will not do... |
All my puppies are microchipped at home . Never had problems with it . |
I gonna try thanks for the post I am going to try the microchiping and maybe the tails... I just dont know yet about those tails...but the dewclaws...noway |
I can and sometime do micro chip my own puppies - but I think it is MUCH EASIER to dock the tails and cut the dew claws then to micro chip. My vet did teach me to put the needle where the chip is "up" so it won't fall out when placing the needed in the puppy. I find the shoulder bones, then go to the middle between the shoulder blades and pull up the lose skin there. Then put the needle in the skin and put the chip in. I always have someone hold the puppy for me when I do this. Normally the puppy doesn't even make a noise, sometimes you get a puppy that thinks you are killing him or her . Most of the time I just take my micro chips to the vet to put in during the puppy's 8 week old health check, but after watching him for a few years, I am brave enough to do it myself when need be;) |
