puppy shots Who givs their puppies their own shots? What do you buy and where do you get it from? I heard nemex-2 is good wormer, what does everyone here get? Thanks Christina |
I do give my puppies their shots and I also worm them myself. I get alot of my supplies from Revival Animal Health Products for Pet Professionals, Veterinarians and Pet Lovers For worming I use 2 different products either work just fine: - SafeGuard #38-500-Z - Nemex-2 #58-224-Z and they have a new one that I have heard great things about in a paste they love to eat:- Panacur/Safeguard Paste #98-570-Z For vaccines I use: - Galaxy DA2PPv #61-904 my vet highly recommends this vaccine over a few others. |
Thank you thats great. do you use a full shot or half? |

I was hoping that you had a chart for the dosing...since this is horse/goat wormer. Is there some kind of formula that you use? according to weight? |
I got this from an old friend. I don't know if it's the same product but my e-mail says panacur?? I think she gave me that formula for this product - SafeGuard #38-500-Z I don't really remember since I never used it. Panacur dosage formula X= body weight X divided by 2.2= Kg Kg X 50= mg mg divided by 100= the dose in ml/cc note: to convert ounces of body weight divide ounces by 16 example = pup weighs 1# 3 ounces 3 divided by 16= .1875 so pup weighs 1.1875 * panacur for 3 days and then again 21 days from first day for 3 more days Myra |

Chariton Vet Supply I have a wholesaler that lives close....charitonvet.com They have alot of dog supplies that are not listed on the web site, but there is a catalog that you can order and they have reasonable prices....you might want to order and check out their prices. I did write them and explain that they should list more of what they have on-line....CHECK THEM OUT. |
When do you stop wormer? Do you stop at the last shots? |

I recieved my shots but I just want to make sure, my vet was giving shots withCAV-2, parvovirus, parainflunza, and coronavirous. I see that these shots does not come with coronavirous, they have had their first 2 so I will be giving their last one, will they be fine with out it? What should i mark on their charts record? I also want to make sure that they just need three sets of shots? Thank you to all who respond, CHristina |
My vet's office told me today that they would have to give Bailey's shots over because they weren't officially given by a vet. :( Here is what the breeder gave him: He is up to date on all distemper shots (I give all my pups VANGUARD® PLUS 5 (contains attenuated strains of canine distemper (CD) virus, canine adenovirus-2 (CAV-2), canine parvovirus (CPV), and canine parainfluenza (CPI) virus propagated on an established canine cell line) at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 6 months. Lucca has had all 3 shots. I have not given him a Rabies shot as I do not like to until they are a year old. NC law requires that the first rabies be given at 16 weeks. My question is will this harm Bailey in anyway by having these shots again? He's 9 months old now. |
