HeLp!! Okay so my puppies are now four weeks old TODAY. The last two days and today they have been crying a lot. This morning they are crying really loud and for longer periods. I think they are getting their teeth in so i believe they could be crying because of that but im not sure. Is this normal??? Is this what it is??? I dont know what to do for them. I also tried doing as one YT member said and froze a wet wash cloth they did not take to that at all. CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!!! :( |
did you check to see if mom still has milk? Or maybe shes trying to wean them and not helping them relieve themselves? Try to wipe their bottoms with a warm wet cotton ball, see if they have to go potty, or try feeding them a little babyfood chicken, and see if their hungry. Sometimes moms try to wean to early. |

Anyone???? Please!!! |
Are they wanting out of what ever they are in? If they are big enough to walk around and you have them in an enclosure they may want out or just want some attention. |
Do they have water they can access? Once they are eating puppy food, even moistened, they need access to a shallow pan of water. Even if they have it, you should still check for dehydration )(pinch the skin at the back of their neck, if it bounces right back that is probably not your issue, if it stays in a little tent they are probably dehydrated). They should be pottying without stimulation but constipation and gas can be an issue with dogs switching from mom's milk to puppy food... Do they have toys, stuff to climb in and in, etc. I have a litter of papillons at home that will be 4 weeks on Sunday and this particular litter has shown lots of early interest in toys and their tunnel, etc. |
I don't think they would be crying because of teeth. None of mine ever have. Are they cold? |
or even too hot if you have a heating pad. |

I've never had a puppy cry because of teething (that I know of). A content puppy never cries. Something is bothering them..... wish I could be of more help. Maybe the food isn't agreeing with them (you'd think they would have the runs or be constipated though....). |
How often are you feeding them? Starting at 4 weeks I leave down a bowl of finely ground up dry food in the pen with the puppies so they can go eat anytime they want. I recommend Chicken Soup Puppy Food, what are you feeding them? |
