3 weeks tomorrow!!!
 
Okay so Peyton Savannah's babies will be three weeks tomorrow. Do i start them on real food then? Also, how do i introduce them to it. When will they drink on their own? When will the go the bathroom on their own? I didnt think they did that until 3rd or 4th week but within the last part of this week i watched the puppies crawl over to the pee pads and go potty. They were peeing and pooping on their own. Is this normal or is it normally later during development. Is there anything else i should be starting or doing on the third week??? :confused:

By the third week you will deffinately notice them pooping and peeing on their own. Mommy might still stimulate them to pee. But I noticed by the 3rd week she no longer ate the poop lol so I started finding the little poops on the pee pad. Lucky would crawl to the pad and pee on it even though he could not stand yet. He would crawl and just lay there but I would see the pee stain spreading lol. You could try canned puppy food mixed with a little bit of Gerber Chicken and some water to make it like a shake...Try putting it on a tiny bowl,I used a tiny spoon and let him smell it .I put some on his tongue...then he started licking it off the spoon. Now he's licking the food from a tiny 3 oz bowl. he eats about2 tsp per meal. I feed him 4 times a day.
If you dont want to try canned food you can buy dry puppy kibble and put it in a blender so it turns to powder. I add a little water to it until it turns like oatmeal. Lucky prefers the canned food so Im giving him that.

you could try a little tomorrow .Dont expect them to rush and gobble it up.They might make a huge mess because they LOVE to get their paws in the bowls ,then step out and walk around.lol Let them smell it. put a little on their tongue... I still hold the tiny bowl close to his face.I also use a tiny teaspoon and let him lick it off that. Let them nurse also during the day.
Lola is like almost completely out of milk but Lucky still loves to suckle lol .You could also try a lil water. Lucky LOVES to drink water.The first time I set a little water bowl down...he started licking it like crazy lol his tummy was about to explode ! I had to take it away!

Aww Genie he is looking good! He is growing up sooo fast.... it was just like yesterday that he was born. LOL!

Hi Jenn i posted pics today in a new thread of the furbabies. It is under 3 weeks and eating. I cant believe how big they are now!!! I hope we have another litter to get you your new little furbaby!!!!!
