puppy weight I got a male to use as a possible stud because he looked to be quite small. He was 10 weeks 1.6 ozs and very small short legs, head, just very small. At 12 weeks at beginning of week he weighed 1.9 at end of week he weighed 2.4. That week he was at the vet boarded for a week either the scales were off or he just had one heck of a growing spurt. So my question is how big do you think he will be and do you think he is still small enough to use with a female that is 4.5lbs.? |
Sounds like he will be in the 4-5 pound range.. But I would like to ask why you would want to breed a 4 1/2 pound female? That is VERY small for breeding female, especially if you are not an experienced breeder. Also, size is not what you should be looking for as far as breeding potentiel. You should be looking at whether or not there are genetic defecs in his lines, whether he is an excellent example of the breed, among other things. Good luck. |

As for the size ,it sounds like he could end up being in the 4-5 lb range. As for her size .To me she is borderline "too small" I have seen many breed a 4 1/2 lb dam but I have onlyseen that with breeders that have been breeding for several years now. My dog was 6 lbs and I thought that was big enough and she still seemed so small since her body is so compact. I know you may not be asking about her size and what people think about that. I'm not trying to be rude in anyway so please don't take it like that. If she's had at least one litter then you could have some kind of idea but every whelp is different and you never know until she gives birth. Keep in touch with a breeder/mentor and good luck with your furbabies :):aimeeyork Genie :aimeeyorkCookie:dog:Lola:aimeeyorkAngel:aimeeyork Lucky |
