I cant wait to see these puppies!!

Hi Jenn,

Nothing yet she just got a bath not to long ago and just a few minutes ago i took her outside as she was letting me know she needed to go... she didnt go or anything and she didnt try it was just nice out. She was in my lap on my porch and she had what seemed like a shiver but i think she might have just been sniffing..... my mother was also just holding her and said her tummy was really tight and felt like it was relaxing... but we dont think that was anything as we think we are over thinking everything. So we will have to see also she is acting normal other then roaming around back and forth. So we will see late tonight or early morning. I do KNOW that she IS pregnant as the ultrasound showed it as well as the puppy movement she has had....they were moving crazy earlier today around 3ish

Okay so i was feeling Peytons Tummy and i dont feel puppies like i did earlier. I felt one small movement and it seems as though her horns are more pronounced and possibly full of puppies....if the puppies are in the horns will they barley move also how much longer from then on? Here are her tummy pictures what do you think?? Puppies soon??? Lowest temp of the day was at 11:15 this morning at 97.2. She is also still eating like a pig! LOL

I have been following your thread. I can't wait till these puppies get here! I too have one expecting...any time now. She is on day 61. Not a yorkie, but a toy poodle. But she was bred with a yorkie! I can't wait to see your cuties and my cuties as well. Good luck!

BTW, I'm new...so hello to everyone!

A dog's uterus has 2 horns shaped like a Y. The puppies are carried from the time they implant until birth in those horns. The move down to the base of the Y into the birth canal during labor. Before then they do not move. Each puppy has a placenta that is wrapped around them and attached to the uterus wall. Once that connection is released you wimay see a green discharge. This is why any green discharge NOT associated with labor is a bad sign.

You just can not tell from the way their belly looks, they do "drop" a few days before whelp, meaning their bellies seem to hang lower towards the ground when standing and their backbones can be more easily felt.

In 6 years we have never had one not have a temp drop before whelping. That said it is not an exact science. There will be false temp drops. At the very least when it has been the actual temp drop...it stays relatively low for at least a few hours before spiking back up. Some females will maintain a temp drop until hard labor starts. This is how most of our females do it, but not all. Our last litter was born 14 hours have a 4 hour temp drop...it stayed down 4 hours, then went back up. We continued to watch her however because she barely ate, was very sleepy and then starting having some sloppy stools. When she started pressure peeing...(i.e...peeing every time she got up, and for several times...with nothing coming out) we knew this was it. You will know when it is time, she will let you know. All you can do is stick with her and watch her closely.

Doesn't look like 5 to me. 3 is a good number. She should be doing something soon. I had a friend who thought maybe her bitch was pregnant ,perhaps with one..day 65 came and went. She was at the dr with her husband on what would have been day 70, came home and found a little boy all cleaned up with his mom. These dogs are not an exact science, not at all!!! Try to get a nap or two in.

Well i just took her potty and she seems fine....She has been sleeping all day and night. No signs of anything as of right now...... So I hope she does something soon.....I know she is definitely pregnant....I just don't know when she is going to go.... I wish there was a way to know....LOL Oh well, I guess Im going to have go wait it out....LOL

As far as time... you think she is going earlier then 5AM your looking more towards 3AM?? I hope it would be really nice. I was also told that some dont show any signs before delivering. So we will have to see!

Hello, I have been watching this tread for days. I can't help but coming back for updates. How much did Peyton weigh before pregnancy and how much does she weigh now. How big was the stud you bred her with?:aimeeyork

Peyton was 10 pounds before she was bred. Now she weighs in at 15 pounds. The stud was 4 1/2 pounds.

My little girl is just so very anxious. She can not sit still. She follows me everywhere. The temps have varied. The lowest that I have gotten was 98.2 but it hasn't stayed down. I can see puppies moving all over her tummy. She is doing a really odd thing, she won't let me touch her tummy much. Maybe cause I wanna feel it all the time..lol but she usually doesn't care what I do to her, but she is being really sensitive to me touching it. She is constantly grooming herself for the last few days. Chewing and licking her paws and bottom. Is this common?

Anyway, I'm very anxious for your puppies to arrive. I bet you will have them by morning.

My baby has had two litters before and she never really showed any signs. It has been several years but I can't remember anything that she done to show she was in labor. I would just awake to her being in her whelping box and she would be pushing and I would jump in and be there for support.

I will keep you updated also cause I'm hoping it will be soon for my baby too. I'm very impatient. I have never bred her with a yorkie before, so I'm very excited!

Mine has been acting the same way.... the last few days cleaning herself, cant get comfortable.... moves when i try to touch her belly sometimes...normally doesnt mind. She hasnt had much puppy movement in the last apprx. 4 to 5 hours. But around 3ish they were moving like crazy! Hoping for an early labor here....and a safe one on yours!

how exciting for both of you! I bred my MiMi in February and thought she was pregnant until almost the end of the False pregnancy:(. I was so disappointed. Now I am waiting for her upcoming heat.:animal36

sometimes I have had their temp drop to the 98 range then go back up for a few days..I do feel you are close, so get some rest. Seems she is resting up for the big event. When she starts, give her some nutrical so that she has an added energy to continue along. Its nice when they don\'t take too long of breaks in between pups. I have spent several nights by the pen waiting for the next pup and waiting. The waiting is the worst part. I gather all your supplies are ready. While waiting I clean all my eq. and wash the fresh bedding and wait some more. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

mypreciouspups 07-21-2008 09:31 PM

omg, no babies yet.. gee I had not computer for two days and thought for sure I missed all the excitement... so we are still on puppy watch.. I know how ya feel believe me.. it is long and hard that waiting.. anne
