Need help!! If anyone is on here at this time I need info. My girl had 2 babies, last one at 1:45 a.m. this morning. It is now 3:55a.m. and there is a noticeable knot on her right side of tummy. Is it just her uterus tightening or another baby. There doesn't appear to be any movement. This is our first and I am not sure about this. She doesn't appear to be in distress and she is drinking water but not eating yet. Can anyone help? |
It sounds like the uterus contracting down. They don't usually want to eat right away. I hand feed my gals chicken the next day and give them warm Esbilac to drink. |
It is 7:30 a.m. here and carli is still having contractions and a knot on her abdomen. She still pushes on these contractions. My vet opens at 8:00 a.m. I think I'll take her in just to be safe. Am I just a worry wart? |
I would bring her in. Its hard to tell without seeing her (and I should say that I am not a breeder!!) but I'd rather be safe. |
whelping I hope all turned out well...let us know... |

Well guys we just got back from the vets and Carli had to have an emergency c-section. She had a water baby stuck and needless to say he didn't make it. So sad but nature has it's way doesn't it? At least mom and bub and sis are ok. Well got to check on the gang. Will get pics out as soon as I can. Thanks for all concerned yorkie lovers. |
Glad that you took her to the vet. So sorry for your loss. I have just experienced a few puppy losses myself, so I know that it can be tough. Glad to hear that everyone else is fine! |
Congratulations on the two surviving pups! So sorry you lost one. Best of luck with them!! There seems to be alot of "emergency type" deliveries lately... Here's hoping things get better around here! ;) |
Congrats on your newbabies!!!Hope all is well. |
