My Neutered male is after my 8 mos old girl Help! Why is my neutered male- 4 years old, trying to "hump" my 8 mos old girl-not spayed yet. Do you guys think we have anything to worry about? |
Is your female in heat? |
I don't know-I don't have experience with this. I'm not a breeder....just thought this question could be answered in this area. |
Your female might be in heat.Neutered males may still want to hump other dogs or toys. Is your girl vulva swollen ? Is there any spotting? Sometimes they go into heat and you don't even notice any blood. If she is constantly pushing her tail against him, like flirting lol.She may push her butt against him. I dont know how else to describe it but if she's doing it you would know lol. Just because a male is neutered doesnt mean he will stop humping. It just means that he wont be able to get her pregnant. |

this is natural.. could also be a dominance maneuver:) if shes in heat, she is asking for him to do it:rolleyes: |
When Roxie was just in heat even my females kept sniffing her. But I also have had females that humped so it's hard to ay which it is. |
My nearly 13 year old boy has been neutered for 10 years and he actually tied with one of my girls about a year ago. She is a shameless flirt so I was not too surprised : ) Now I keep him away from the girls in season, even though I know there is nothing to worry about pregnancy wise I don't need him or the bitch getting hurt since I won't be there to supervise... It is nice having him around, he does a much better job of warning me that someone is coming into season than my intact boys do! |
Yes, I have to keep my neutered male( a min pin) away from my girls were they are in heat. He actually tied with my female once, so we just keep them apart, like we do the intact male. |
how long should a heat last? |
I think it is about 3 weeks. A breeder may know for sure. |
