Mucus Plug?? What does a mucus plug (right term?) look like? I just noticed a small brownish thing......it was a little stuck so I used a baby wipe to grab it off. Right before I noticed that, I saw the puppies moving in her tummy. |

sounds like the plug.. have a good whelping.. maybe 6 more hours tops for first puppy... just a guess..:aimeeyork |
I am loading pics now........... So so nervous......she follows me all over the place - I couldnt even come upstairs to transfer the pics to the comp without her following me around. |
2 Attachment(s) Gross, I know, but here are the pics of it. They are a bit blurry, but I think you can get the idea. |
Yes, that would be the mucus plug. You can see some pics of it here. Pregnant Dams, Full Term Mucus Plug |
Just took her temp - it was 100.2. |
Temps on mine will drop and go back up several times. Keep taking it and when the temp drops and stay down then she is getting close. Good luck for a safe whelping. |
Okay. Chloe and I are at the point that when I pull out the thermometer she just looks at me like, "Again - - really!?!?". This is what her temps have been: 9:30 am - 100.7 11:30 am - 99.3 3:00 pm - 100.2 She is just napping for now - but wont let me out of her sight. |
she may do like some and drop only right before pushing like just 4-8 hours before.....i have seen that on here....go and read the April puppies thread....there was every thing you could think of in signs on there....and some with no signs at all....lots and lots of good advice on that thread.... |

Check out these new temps, they are starting to become predictable: 4:00 p.m. - 99.5 4:40 p.m. - 100.5 5:50 p.m. - 99.4 She is napping, but earlier she was digging and panting for a short period of time. She hasnt eaten in a few hours - and I am trying to get her to eat! |

Good luck to you and the expectant mama.........I'll check back in later. |
im still guessing around 48 hours from lose of mucus plug....but we will just have to wait and see |
Just took her temp - it is 98.8 - the lowest that I have seen it in the past few weeks. I just got home, she is just hanging out for now - havent been able to observe behaviors for a few hours (she was being watched, though), so I guess I will see shortly.......I will keep you posted. |
Keep checking her temp throughout the night...This way you will not miss it and can make arrangements to be home with her...Please do not leave her unattended...Things can go quickly sometimes and you never know when they will need emergency assistance! |
I know. I wish she would go tonight. I am supposed to go to a bridal shower tomorrow afternoon (but my fiance will be home) and I have to work tomorrow night. My fiance will be home but I really want to be there. She wont be left unattended.........Im just so anxious for her! |
