I will tell him. The instructors at my Tae Kwon Do school are quite familiar with Chloe, so I am pretty sure that I will be able to leave if my fiance calls to say that something is up!

Please be sure to check back on me. Its nice to have someone there!

She is doing pretty much the same. Just laying around staring at me....making sure I dont do anything crazy like leave the room for a second. I posted on "Mucus Plugs" the following temps:

9:30 am - 100.7
11:30 am - 99.3
3:00 pm - 100.2

Not much of a change, I guess.

Check out these new temps, they are starting to become predictable:
4:00 p.m. - 99.5
4:40 p.m. - 100.5
5:50 p.m. - 99.4

Chloe was eating earlier today, but doesnt really want to eat lately. She was digging and panting, only for a short period of time, a few hours ago.

She was X-rayed yesterday and is carrying 4 pups. In the past 2 hours, she has been panting nonstop (except when drinking water or being pet) and even started to "dig" in her bed. I had a female yorkie that had a litter of pups exactly 1 week before we expected them. I knew exactly which days she had tied so knew there was no question there. Her four pups were all born healthy and weighed 5 and 6 ounces so they were definitely not premies. Good luck to you.........I'll be waiting and watching.:)

Thank you! Her temp, as of a few minutes ago, was 98.9 - the lowest I have seen i.

Okay, well I am just thinking that I wont get any sleep for awhile. I had dreams that her four puppies were born - and then about 15 more! It was crazy!

dont those silly kind of dreams drive you crazy...i hate to have them ...cause you know it is not gonna happen but you mind dreams it anyway.....lol

I know!! It reminds me of my occasional college/law school dreams, when I have terrible dreams about having to take exams over and over again.

She is laying by my feet now. Hopefully we will go to bed by 12, so I will take her temp right before we do that.

well hopefully she will get up around 9am and start panting and pushing....oh well if we are gonna dream might as well dream big......lol...hopefully you can get some rest tonight....cause i really dont see you getting any sleep tomorrow night

I know right? If she could start going into labor right after church, that would be great. I guess she wouldnt understand me if I told her that. . . Then, if she could just pop them all out, that would be greeeeeeat. :) Always good to dream.

dont worry about your fiance being there alone with her....like i said if he will log in to yorkietalk...there are lots of people here that can talk him through things....just make sure you have all your whelping supplies all in one place and if there is something that you think he will not be able to figure out how to use or do...then go ahead now and explain it to him....make sure you have a bulb syringe....very very important to suck all secretions out and something to cut the cords with and tie them off if the mom doesnt do it herself......scissors and unwaxed dental floss will do the trick...just tie it off twice and cut between....YT folks are great for helping

also make sure you account for all placentas....if one looks like it is gonna go back in tie dental floss to it and hold on to it till she pushes it out.....it is gross but actually good for her to eat at least 1 placenta

This is starting to freak me out ! Lola is 49 days according to the first tie date that I witnessed in May 11. For the past 2 days I have seen that dark gross discharge stuck to her vulva .Tonight I felt the puppies moving around like crazy .She was sitting on my lap and started panting on and off for like 2 hrs . I was rubbing her back and not trying to make too much of it ,to show her I was calm. I decided to set up her whelp area in my bedroom bathroom.The door is open and there is a puppygate there so I can see her thewhole night since I put a nightlight in the bathroom so I can clearly see her from my bed. I have not noticed her digging though.

Chloe's temp is 98?! Please keep me updated.

Hey Genie,

Chloe was 100.2 at 8:10 this morning. After getting back from church, I took her temp - it was 98.8. She did this all day yesterday too. I have to go to a bridal shower but my fiance will be here.

UGH! I am supposed to work from 4 - 8 or so tonight. Marlon, my fiance, will be here, but I am so anxious. He isnt as anxious as me, but I am trying to fill him in on all the details.

I have heard from a breeder that u should only take temp 2x a day. U will make yourself CRAZY because their temps jump around all day. My dogs temp spiked before it dropped! Breathe girl! Watch her and breathe! Lol.

JennyLee:Good advice and I think I will take it also! I know u should start taking their temp one week before the whelp date. So I will wait until the vet checks her out and agrees or disagrees if she is around 7 weeks or further along .I'll then start taking her temp around 10 am and 6 or 7 pm.

When they are showing signs of impending delivery and it gets closer to the due date I take temps frequently...If you only take the temps every 12 hours you most likely will miss the drop in temp...

from what i have heard from other breeders is in the 7th week take temp every 8-12 hours....8th week take temp ever 4-6 hours(awake hours)...and last 7 days take temp every 2-4 hours even during the night....

I have bred english bulldogs. I only took temp 2x a day. The temp would go up to 101-102 and then drop next time then within 12 hours labor would begin. With bullies I would call vet and next day we would deliver. If you are watching they give lots of signs. I also had 2 girls that never dropped temp!

Well, she is a mommy!!
The first one was born at 7:12 a.m. I think it is a boy.
The second one is on its way out. She seems to be finishing up with the first.
