How much to charge for puppies? Ok, I have a new litter, yes I am 22 and yes I have a mentor, hehe, but this is my first litter and I'm not sure what to charge for my puppies, they are AKC registered and the parents are both beautiful. The breeder who is helping me has been doing this for years and she charges around $1200 or so for small females, and has sold an UNpapered yorkie for $800 before, so I listed mine for $1000/$950, to leave room for negotiation if necissary... tons of people have read my posts and emailed about them, I even said I accept payments but as soon as I mention the price they don't email back, hee hee, am I listing too high? |
I can't offer advice on what to charge. My biggest concern would be that the puppies go to a good and loving home. I wish you all the best. |

it depends on the area you are selling in. |

I would total up all your costs, including mummy's scans, helath checks and how much it has cost you to rear the babies and go from there. Please remember that just because someone can afford to pay £££'s doesnt neccesarily mean they will provide the best home. :) |

just look for the best homes, and give a discount to the best homes,, be patient and wait for the right owners.. dont promise any puppies until the new owners are checked out...look for older owners, the best is retired... fenced in yard, and knowledge about dogs... good luck in placing your babies, they are depending on you to make the right choice...:):) small children and big dogs NO.... |

When looking to adopt a rescue on 'petfinder' , I had to fill out an on-line application.. It was very extensive, but I didn't mind because I understood they needed to be sure the pet was going to a secure and good home....Check out their application and copy it...Get references too...And if they had animals before, get their vet's phone number and call there to see if they were taking they pet to the vet when necessary |

Welcome to Yorkietalk! You are the first person I have sen that is very, close to where I live. I am in Avenal. Yeah i know, A hole in the ground. Anyway, When I was looking for a Puppy, i went to the Fresno Bee. i bought Suzi from A retired woman from Viasalia. sp. Suzi did not, however have papers though, and i paid $600.00. Which is very good for a Yorkie. She had her shots too. and was dewormed twice. I have seen In the same paper Yorkies advertised at least 600-1200. i believe the females go for a little higher amount. I totally agree to make certain they go to good, loving stable homes. You can charge more too, if they have been vet checked. Whatever you do please do not send them to the pet store Animal house in Lemoore. I know that the store has a lot of pure breds there, However, I hate to see beautiful puppies in their store. :animal36 How old are your furbabies? Anther place that could be a safe way to advertise is on craigslist, Fresno. People are not allowed to "sell" their puppies , yet you could advertise. :animal-pa |

do not use the local paper to advertise... puppyfind is nationwide, and more people can find you.. i sold all 4 pups in 3 weeks.. at the ages of 10-12weeks you can telephone interview to get an idea of who they are before inviting them over... well worth the cost to advertize... post your own photos and get emails... it works... you reach a larger audience on puppyfind... and can ask for references before giving out your name and phone.. beware of puppy thieves:eek:....:animal-pa:animal-pa |
I would say you are on track with the price. People just think they can get yorkies for cheap prices and then they back away. The real people you will want your puppies to go to will stay with you. Good Luck in your sale of your little ones. |
if it helps, i paid $400 for my yorkie 10 years ago :P this one site, i've seen it go from $500-2000 for male puppies... what i would is to see how much yorkies cost in the area then kinda ball park from there. in GTA its eems like yorkies are $1500+ (even males) in korea, yorkies are 300-500$ hope it helped |
