Can she get any bigger!!!!! Hey everyone, So here we are 15 days prior to whelping give or take:rolleyes:...Anyways I am amazed to see how big Bridget is getting. 3 weeks ago, I could not even say she was pregnant for sure. She started showing about a week later, and since then OMG:eek: she is growing it seems by the minute!!!! This will be our 3rd litter, 2nd from her, and last time I don't think she even got close to this big. We are 15 days out, and if she keeps going at the rate she is, I swear the poor thing will burst! She is so fat, she is waddling...literally:D So how are your pregnant mommas doing. Do they seem this huge to you, and is there a point I should worry. I had a mentor here, unfortunalty she is unable to help me right now as her life turned upside down. SO here I am asking the experts, and those that have done this a hundred times. Should I worry, or is there just a lot more baby this time. Last time we had 3 boys, hoping for at least one girl this time... I can feel the backs I think of the babies, I am thinking there is 4:p, this is just from running my hand over her abdomen, I will not palpitate as I am certainly no expert... I can feel 4 definite segments of babies??? Ok.. thanks for your input. I will post the pics later. I am computer stupid;). |
Thanks All! Ok, so I am frustrated with the lack of anything here. A yes, that is normal would have been nice. I swear I have posted in these forums so many times and I would dare say 85 precent never get a response, or perhaps one or two. With very little help, but others on stupid topics get all kinds of responses. It is like a click in an online community. I have left frustrated many times, and I guess this is no diffrent. SO thanks so much for the lack of response, the lack of answers and heck the lack of trying to gain a few new friends. In 3 years I have become more and more frustrated with this whole thing. I was asking becasue as I said my mentor is having something tough things go on. Owell, maybe better luck next time, see you all later. I am sick of this |
Oh my! I would love to see pics of your sweet little Bridget. My Chizzie delivered 6 pups in April and was so huge I thought her skin was going to split. Chattie with her 3 pups wasn't nearly as big bellied. |
I am so sorry I did not see your post sooner. I have been away from the computer for a while. Sometimes many of us get busy and just use the CP to look for updates and we don't always have time to look for new post. How much does your girl weigh normally? I have had some get so big they would almost be dragging the ground. It is amazing how much their little bellies can stretch. I hope your little girl has a safe whelping. |
I know nothing about breeding, but I wish you the best! |
I am sorry for my earlier post I should apologize. Well... I am sorry. I think a lot is just going on, and I just got so aggrvated by seeing my post go unanswered for so long. SO I am sorry. I should behave better. I just have a lot on my plate right now. :( Bridget is normally about 5 ish pounds, and is nearing 8.5 so she really is getting big. Just worried is all, she wont have issues becasue she is so big will she, she is tight all the time... |
My yorkie is normally between 5 to 6 pounds and she is due tomorrow weighing a whopping 8 lbs! Her belly is so big I thought she was going to bust, and it just keeps growing. She has 4 pups. Hope everything goes well with yours! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of mine anytime! |

I know you are worried about your little girl. The main thing is to keep her calm and try not to let her jump or get stress out. |
Sending prayers for a safe and fast delivery. ((Hugs)) |
mommie I don't check in as much as I used to...trying to get other things done. You can always call me...561-732-5067 Best wishes |
......... I don't breed yorkies, but knowing how small the breed is, I would be concerned about her getting so big. Maybe you should inquire about it with a vet........ she may need a c-section. |
4 Attachment(s) Hey there! I know how you're feeling, my cleo is getting huge! I don't think theres much to worry about. Looks like we will be due near the same time! We are 18 days before her due date. Do you have any pics of your girl to show us? 1 - day 37 2 - day 41 3 - day 41 4- Her before pregnancy with her 'little' sister Lily my 8 month old (phalene)Papillon! |
I am sorry I did not see your post earlier. I have been busy keeping an eye on my female that is due to whelp. I also have a female that is not due until June 28. She is almost dragging on the floor now and she cannot find a comfortable way to lay down. I was also very concerned when I saw how big she was. I called my vet yesterday and she wants to do an Xray about 5 days ahead of her due date. The vet's main concern is that she wants to know how many puppies are in there and what are the sizes of those puppies. By having the Xray you will know if she has any puppies too big to give birth. If there are a lot of puppies the puppies will be smaller but if she only has 2 or 3 she may have some pups that are too big to whelp. I would certainly visit with your vet and get the correct answers. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully we will hear from you again. Please do not get disappointed with the forum yet. I think we all want to help but we do get busy and may not check our computers as often as we should. |
size They tend to level off around 7 to 8 weeks...I have had girls get bigger with 4 pups then those with 6 or 7...LOL One gushed so much water it pooled in the corner of the whelping box where the towels got pushed aside. |

I've posted questions on a Subject I'm wanting to learn about but sometimes even that gets side tracked as others come on and it gets made into something it's not. So time here is the key, someone hopefully will see your post and reply. Wish you the best with your upcoming whelping. These is just my OPO. :) Lee |
