Penelope's Pregnancy (Update)
 
OK, I am starting to get kinda nervous. Penelope hasn't eaten since yesterday morning. She has no energy, but walks outside to pee. I keep giving her Nutical. All she wants to do is lay and sleep. She is due anytime but no signs of nesting or panting.

Is this normal for a expecting female when she is close to giving birth? My vet says it is and to relax. I spoke with him today to let him know what was going on.

I want to do everything right. Help!!!!! :confused:

Kev, it is pretty normal. You should take a catnap. chances are she won't nest until she is having them, and you will be up all night. Sunshine surprized me with her first one while she was sitting on the bed watching TV with me. Never showed one sign,., I looked down at her and there was a baby

Thanks, I guess I just needed to know that it's normal. Her whelping box is right next to my bed so I can keep an eye on her. But she is so quite and tired, it's not like her. Well then again, she has never been pregnant before ;)

Thanks for being out there and helping me relax some. Your awesome :thumbup:

Actually yes, she must have eaten last night while I was sleeping. All her food was gone from her dish. Right she is licking up some vanilla ice cream and is in heaven :animal36

Glad to hear she is eating. What day is she on? Have you been watching her temperature? Ice cream is good for her.. bless her sweet heart!

I'm off to the pet store to get a thermometer and some more Nutri-Cal. I've never taken her temp, so I hope I do it right :confused:

OK, I just took her temp. it's 99.8. She's in her box nesting now.Maybe soon???

Just watch her close. Sometimes the temperature can fool you. Most of the time it will drop down to 98 or 99 degrees 12 to 24 hours before having puppies. I have had some have pups when their temperature was 100. Good luck.

hopefully she will wait and give you a day whelp tomorrow....catch you a good night sleep (i know you are worried)....tonight if you can cause it sounds like we are fixing to be on PUPPY WATCH!!!!!!!
