UGH so Irritating to know!! OK warning this isnt about yorkies but about ignorant (sp) breeding backyard...and finding out i got my little one from a backyard breeder yikes!... My neighbor let her dogs have pups and gave them away at 5 wks old because i got mine that young so its ok :eek::thumbdown:thumbdown UGH so much I have learned on here I wish I could just shake some since into them.... then to find out my little ones breeders dont vaccinate there pups unless they dont home and that is at 12 wks mind you I got my guy at 7 wks...srry about the venting and if it should be at the general section then move it by all means... |
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience..hoping your little one gets well! The only good that can now come out of this is you can take your experience and educate others on the importance of quality breeders. Good luck to you and your little one! |
Don't be too upset. Your breeder probably just did not realize 5 weeks was too young for Yorkie pups. This is where breeder education is very important. Hopefully you can educate her about the dangers of selling the puppies too young. As for the vaccinations, new research is showing that it is best to put off the first vaccination until the pups are 8 weeks or older. I personally do not give the first vaccination until the pups are 10 weeks old and I am starting to lean toward 12 weeks for the 1st shot. Too many people are over vaccinating their dogs and it is causing a lot of health problems in dogs and the dogs owners are not making the connection to the vaccinations. |
