My dog still hasnt whelped.. KiKi's 63 days was yesterday, so I figured she would have them last night..but still no sign of them. This has never happened to me before..What should I do? |
Has her temerature dropped? |
I just moved back to NJ from SC and I cant find my thermometer! Im to nervous to leave her alone to go get one and didnt realize I didnt have it until 2 days ago ..Ima nervous wreck She hasnt wanted to eat for a couple of days so I cooked her some chicken and she ate some of that and now shes just laying around. :( |
Maybe you should take her to the vet. Better safe than sorry!! |
Thats what Im thinking. Ive only went to the vet here one time so I dont know him well. I always just the gun and go to the vet for no reason so I was trying to wait it out..I just wasnt sure if 64 days is common is first time mothers? |
Each dog is different. I seem to remember that most of my first timers were a few days early. How many times did you breed her and was is within a short period? She might have taken on the last breeding and not the first. |
63 Wait...she will start labor when she is ready...if she is not acting ill, resting fine and eating fine, no green discharge, just wait another day ro so...I have had regular 60 day girls go 65 ..talk about a "watched pot" never boiling!! |

She was AI'd 3-12, 3-13 and 3-17. Her and my male were out together but I never saw them tie. I called the vet and of course they told me to bring her in...She has had clear discharge for 2-3 days but nothing green and shes just acting lazy..she dig around a little in our bed yesterday but nothing today. |

hoping for a safe and healthy delivery....waiting is so hard..... |
Thank you! Kiki just acted like she was going to throw up..but didnt..does this mean anything? I feel like Ive never done this before! My other dogs always have puppies on time and on their own!! :( |
Waiting is hard, and there doesn't seem to be any cause for alarm. Day 65 is not unusual at all. Have you established a comfortable relationship with your new vet? That always makes me feel better knowing they are there for me if I need them. |
Good... No I havent , my vet is SUPER busy and I wont be useing him for anything else..I had a check up done with him and we have a langauge barries..he doesnt speak much understandable english and I dont like his vet building..I called another vet about an hour ago and told them the situation and hes awaiting my call if anything happens..My vet is in SC!..we move about every 6 months so its hard to keep everything straight. |
