I just got back to my house, we live 1/2 block away, but I can't used their computer, the puppy is breathing, not too warm, should I buy formula or give him something to drink? |
Even the vet said he did not think she was pregnant, and tonite when her owner came back home they found the puppy inside the crate. It got everybody out of guard.I dont think she has any other baby.I just came to log in and read your answers and will go back in a while. Also want to get a box so she can go in and out |

Can you call a vet or take them in to be sure? I would rather be safe than sorry. These little ones go down FAST, trust me. |

Breny it looks like you have things covered. I hope all goes well! Keep us updated. |
They have the pup on the heating pad with mom, and moved them to the warmest room in the house. The pup has not latched on but he is breathing and moving and mom is licking him and taking care of him. I did suggest they find an emergency vet and call. I feel it would be better safe than sorry since they were not home when he was delivered and have no idea if there are any others. Plus to make sure there is not a retained placenta. They do not know how much the pup weighs so I'm hoping it is not a tiny. Right now they are going to call the vet and I gave them advice on keeping him warm and to keep trying to get him latched on. But at this point since they don't know when he was delivered and if there are anymore, I think he and mom needs to get to the vet asap. |
Wow, you girls are awesome....you just jump right in there when anyone needs help at any time... I'm so impressed!! You all are wonderful!! Hope the baby makes it! |
oh and they tried the saliva and that didn't work. Any other suggestions that I may have missed? I hope they get ahold of a vet soon! |
I've also hear Nutri-drops on the nipple to encourage puppy to nurse. Neither saliva or Nutri-drops worked for me. I think Karo syrup, just a touch, might be more enticing. |
