1 Teeny Tiny Little Puppy!
 
Turns out my little girl does have one :littleang in there! The vet did an xray and an ultrasound, and both showed one little baby. I saw the little heart beating and everything! I'm so excited! And, since this is her first and my first experience breeding EVER, having just one puppy to whelp and care for is just a perfect way to get started. :cheers:

so it was the repositioning, good news, didnt think she could have absorbed because of the weight gain...gl hope you have an easy whelp...sometimes a singleton will be a difficult whelp, keep your EM vet number handy.

I agree with Kim on the whelping ,they can have a hard time trying to pass a large puppy,or not progress well to delivering.Make sure you talk with your vet about it.

Happy to hear she did not reabsorb her puppy.
Best wishes with the deliver, Kim is very right about that!
Make sure you have a game plan ready if she has trouble.

Thanks for the heads up. That makes sense - a singleton would be larger, thus more prone to cause problems during delivery. I asked the vet about a c-section, but she didn't think that was the route to go, and she told me exactly what to do and where to go if complications arise and it's an after hours delivery. I know a week from now, the xray and ulstrasound would have given a more accurate idea of size, but it does seem to be a very teeny, tiny little puppy. I will be sure to let you know how it goes!

I saw this thread earlier today when I snuck a peek at work. I'm so glad to hear that your girl is PG. Good luck with the single whelp. I'll look forward to hearing all about the happy day.
