Born with white paws?
 
We had a pup born with white paws and a big white patch on it's chest. The patch means it will have a big quantity of hair right? But what do the white paws mean? I've never seen this before. It's not the whole paw either. It's where the nails are. It's kinda hard to explain. So I took pics:

I have seen white on the toes before. As they get older, the white will fade and the tan hair will cover it. I havent seen it on the silkier coats but have on soft coats.

I think Epsilon was born with white paws. I attached a picture of what his paw looked like when I got him and you can see white there. He also has a white chin and white chest... I love it! I think it's so cute! The paws aren't white anymore though, but that hair at the pads of his feet are very light.

awww! He's such a cutie! Thank you so much for sharing the pics! I forgot to mention that she has a white chin too. Im hoping that it means she will have the thick, soft coat!!

I noticed that you're in California. What stud is he out of? I wonder if they're related...lol! My stud's name was Nemo.

I got him from a breeder in the Fresno area. Her name is Beverly. The stud's name was Buster.

Oh ok. This breeder I used was in Norco, Ca...far from Fresno..haha. Now you've gotten me all excited. I can't wait to see what she looks like when she grows up!

I have a white foot in almost every litter but it usually turns.

Milli had a white foot, and a few white toenails too. The nails turned black, and the foot turned tan. She also had some white on her chest and on her chin-Some of the hair on her chest turned to a light tan, but she still has a little white beard :)

As the foot hair grows, the white will need clipping and be gone...

Actually no, I have only had a couple of soft coated puppies from my parents and believe it or not, it was from two silky coated parents.:) And the white on the chest usually turns gold. At least in my experience it has. A light tannish/gold.
