Prices How do you put a price on your puppies? It looks to me that prices can really range from low to very high by what state puppies are located in? |
I agree that prices are "regional". I don't ship my pups so my prices are pretty low compared to most... I usually sell fairly local... but people do fly or drive quite a distance to buy one of mine!! ;) |
when I sold my puppies I priced the ones closest to the yorkie standard higher. And I didnt even think of pricing until they were older |
It depends.. It depends on if I like you...lol I had one of my last go to a wonderful gal in Nashville TN, We E-mailed and talked on the phone for weeks before her little gal was 12 weeks old. I will not ship puppies. But I liked her so well I dropped the price 100.00 so it helped with her airfare. I so wanted her to have this little girl.:D I am from Ohio...and they usually sell for around $1,000 average here for a female. Give or take on the breeder. If you go to Amish Country...about 60 miles from me You can get them CKC for 500.00....but beware of those puppies:( |
There is a lot that goes into figuring out the price. First Quality of the pup and Quality both parents and the pedigree. Considered when trying to price - how much did I pay for the mom. How much did I pay for stud service, and what is the quality of the sire. I do not charge more for smaller puppies. You really can't price when they are younger. Just before my pups go to their new homes I now pay myself for spay/neuter (if sold as a pet) - done before they leave, all shots up to 5 months, microchiping, and health certificate. I also include a small bag of the food I am feeding, toy and small mat. I also pay for the litter AKC papers, but the new owner will have to pay the 20.00 to register the puppy in their name. I do not have litters that often and only breed to get a show hopeful. A lot of research goes into everything before i breed and I try to produce the best pups possible. T. |

I know people was very down on my $400.00 to $600.00 price range (Ours was pet quality puppies) so is U're babies Show babies? I'm just wondering why the price difference & we're so close in States. Doesn't make any sense, everyone thought our puppies was gonna be big like Tif, wrong, only 2 turned out big out of 10 babies. So now I've learned not to allow people to use that against me on my pricing. I don't know how to price puppies, I think I will be more like Topknot when it comes to Sages' puppies I will be pricing them more like hers are. (Something else I need to learn this year too) More quality and such, just have to wait and see what kind of babies we have. I might even get them spayed/neutered before they leave since she will be my only one having puppies in the Spring. Well if I ever adopted a puppy from U I sure hope I stay on U're good side. Just teasing there. No really I hope U do like me. :) Thanks for U're thoughts, Lee |

I am picky too - very picky! I interview and ask a lot of questions in person and then research and ask their references too. I want to make sure all of my pups go to forever homes. T. |
