I have some questions...... If you buy a female for breeding from say a YT breeder that has show quality pups would you still need to get her tested before breeding? I am just wondering. My thinking is this if you buy your breeding pair from very reputable YT breeders wouldn't all the testing have already been done on the parents? Why do it again because you already would know their lineage. :questione I am just wondering, something that has been on my mind. Thanks in advance for your response. |
The only way I would NOT re-test would be if the seller showed me PROOF that the pair had been tested. Documents and etc from the vet. it is still a good idea to re-test if you are talking about young puppies here because things can change by the time they get old enough to breed . |
So much can change by the time they get old enough to breed so I have to say I would re-test to be 100% sure all is as it should be prior to breeding. |
Thank you I want to thank you for your responses. I understand now why you need to test before you breed. I appreciate the way your kind with your responses. We are just educating ourselves at this point. I knew that you ladies are VERY knowledgeable and I could get the correct response. :) |
