I can't imagine breeding my two just to recoup the money I paid for them.:eek: They are well worth every penny I paid. That's not a good reason to breed, IMO. There are a lot of dogs out there who would make beautiful puppies, that doesn't mean they should all be bred.:rolleyes:

ETA: Since I noticed on your other thread that you bought your male on limited registration, why are you even thinking about breeding him?

i have yorkipoos and they can only be ckc registered.. i guess you are the only one on planet earth with akc yorkipoos. congrats:)

Are you saying your breeder is lying? If indeed your breeder sold the dog with limited registration then you should honor her wishes and not breed him to anything.

yorkipoos are not akc .. but if mixing a yorkie with a poodle, the parents should be akc reg and the sire should be small..and of course tested... the dam should be at least 5 lbs.

yorkipoos come in a variety of styles.. there is no standard unless cuteness and smarts count... could look like black sheep,, mini black labs, or small grixzzly bears......of course i am biased..i have em all:aimeeyork:aimeeyork

OK To End of this Damn DRAMA on this site. My breeder and I are good friends. At the time I Bought Max, He did have limited Reg. At the time I didn't know that with Limited Reg you couldn't breed him or use him as a stud. Well this was the Main Reason I bought Max. Dont get me wrong I love yorkies, but I could never see me spending such a large sum of money on one as I do have two young children. Well I called her that night after taking my pup home and reading his papers and so forth, Called Her back up and asked her to drop the limited. At first she didn't want to because she has never done that before only for a except few. But finally she did. My dog has Full Registration. Do U want his AKC# to prove it?

To everyone that is writing about me mixing Max, Well that is still up in the air. I haven't yet breed him with anything? I came on here to get answers to questions just like everyone else did, and for some reason this thing got blown out of Proportion, my breeder was contacted in the meantime. I dont know why she told such and such I have Limited, only Thing i can think of is because usually she doesn't give full. and I have full. I dunno just a wild guess. But anyone that is interested in having his number to verify that Im in right telling the truth, Ill be more then happy to give you the number.

Another thing, I think this site is actually quite silly. You guys jump to conclusions about anything. You dont read post right. As soon as you see that word yorkipoo, you automatically assume that i had already bred him, and that they are registered AKC. At the time this thread was started, the person that contacted me about breeding him to a poodle, she had told me that they were reg AKC. Well from doing my RESEARCH, and YES I DID SAY RESEARCH, she wasn't a good breeder at all, and told lies, and Im not for that. If I was to breed max, with a yorkie, poodle, I would want to see their records stating that they are infact ok to breed. Nothing wrong with them and so on..

I was thinking the same thing! The love I get from Rocky and Bella is way more valuable then the prices I paid for them!
If you plan on getting money back for what you paid for your dog, what was your dog not worth the money? Obviously not! Dogs aren't investments, if you want to get money back, put your money in the stock market or invest it somewhere else!

You just hit a very touchy subject here. Some people just blow it way out of proportion.

Don't take it the wrong way, your doing the right thing by sticking around and learning. This is a great site, lots of nice people. but some can't take it when it comes to breeding, they think that only "professionals" can breed, but how do you get to be a professional? you have to start somewhere, everyone is a newbie once in there life, no one is perfect. So just take this all with a grain of salt :)

If you didn't read What I just posted. I heard that breeding these types of dogs you could make some money, and I dont know if you are rich or what not, but everyone needs som extra money right now..

Max is totally worth the money I paid for him. I will love him unconditinally no matter if he breeds or not. Breeding is STILL UP IN THE AIR, If I dont find a female that he can breed he is getting fixed, and will be just a wonderful pet. Adventually when i get my own place, I will go into breeding, dont care what people have to say or not. Yes I want to make extra money.. Idont see that as a problem...

No I'm not rich, I'm a full time student and work part time, have a mortgage to pay, 2 furbabies to take care of, besides all my other bills and expenses. Trust me, I could really use the extra money too, but I would never jeopardize my dogs to do so. Would you make a young child go and get a job because money is tight (oh we have an extra person in our house, lets have them get some money)? I would hope not! Also, breeding changes their personality, he may no longer be the wonderful pet that he is now. What are you going to do when he starts marking everywhere and has other behavioral changes? Guess where that extra money is going to go too? Also, what about the expenses to prepare him to breed, such as testing and everything. I'm not a breeder, but from what I understand is that breeders rarely make money, and when they do, it usually goes back into their program for another litter. Also, wouldn't you only be getting a stud fee, or pick of the litter? You wouldn't be selling the puppies, the owner of the bitch would be.

There are tons of other ways to make extra money, I just hate when people use their poor defenseless pet to do so.

Sorry if my post comes off as rude, I'm not trying to be, I just think that wanting to make money is the wrong reason to want to get into breeding, there are so many other things that come with breeding besides $$. I am glad your doing your research though and not like some who think it's simple, from reading on here you can tell it's anything but!

$500.00 for a Yorkie is not expensive at all .

Well to me my dogs are like my children, like I said I could never jeopardize them to make money. It is mine and my fiance's responsibility to pay the bills, not our yorkies :rolleyes: I guess I have to understand that not everyone considers their yorkies their children.

I guess the way I see it is, it's her dog, her choice, she has to live with whatever she decides.

We can only give our opinions, whether the OP'er wants to hear it or not, she did come her to get advice and this is a public forum, so there is going to be nice opinions and not so nice opinions.

Either way, she is the one who knows what she wants to do and how she wants to do it. I feel we are here on this earth to learn life lessons, maybe this is one of those lessons.

I agree with you, it's just upsetting when it's affecting a dog who has no say, or future puppies that can be brought into this world. I just hope the OP will continue to research, not only on how to stud, but what comes along with a stud dog, and makes the right decision.

People with this kind of attitude are why the reputable breeders get so frustrated on here. I'm not rich, I have two yorkie males, and I would never dream of breeding them just because I needed extra money!

You came here with questions, and you are getting honest answers from people who know what they are talking about. Rather than take the advice, you are getting argumentative because you're not hearing what YOU want to hear.

It should not be about the money. But, I don't think you get that. You are set on what you want to do...
