Tail Docking Iam not sure if this is the right place for this or not, I have a question about tail docking, My friend just got her little girl and the breeder did her tail, Witch i know many of you do, The thing is, Its not short, More like in between long and short, She is 14 weeks, It looks kinda strange, I mean, She is a beautiful little girl,I think the breeder messed up on her tail, her brothers tail is even longer she said:confused: I told her she cant fix it now, Its to late, Well she wants to know if she should ask for some kind of compinsation? After seeing my babies, She knows now that its messed up:( Any advise please..Thank you:) |
no i dont think she can get a compenstation on tail lenth..if it was a problem she should have brought up before she purchased the dog tail is not a big deal unless u r showing plus some breeders have stopped docking b/c of new laws or maybe the breeder liked that lenght |
A lot of breeders & vets tend to dock the tail too short on most of the yorkies I've seen as pets. So everyone is so used to seeing a shorter docked tail However, the show dogs I've seen really do have that medium-docked tail. It's possible hers is docked to the correct length but your friend just isn't used to seeing them that long. In any case, it's something she should have decided before she bought the puppy...and tail length on a pet puppy is no big deal. It can be redocked but I would never do that to an older puppy |

My personal opinion, I like the longer tail. It is sooo cute when the hair grows long on it. I really like the look!:animal36 |

Rather too long then too short. My poor Feather has almost no tail. I'm talking like 1/2". Her breeder couldn't get into her vet so she took her to a vet she never used before and all the pups were cut like this. I'm surprised they didn't have bleeding problems |
