pregnant female with fleas?! i found a flea on pebbles this morning! she was on frontline... but she may be pregnant so i didnt put it on this month. i only found one flea.. and she doesnt seem to be itching... but is there anything you know of that is safe on a pregnant or nursing female? |
Most people will say to use Dawn dish soap. Kills the fleas without hurting the puppies. Make sure you don't get any in her eyes. lol |
YUP dat stuff works soooo goooodd! |
use Dawn. While it will not prevent fleas, it will kill what is on her already. Please do not use any kind of commercial flea medicine. i had a very unfortunate experience with my first pregnant dog because of this. |

I've heard several times that this type of flea preventative administered to a prego female could cause complications with the pregancy including premature whelp and malformation of puppies. I've heard of the dish soap to kill the fleas...never tried it, but it seems like a much safer option. I know that in the past if any of our dogs had fleas, treating one of them w/ flea medication was enough to get rid of the fleas for everyone. Not sure if that would work in your case, but it might be worth a try... |

i have tried treating just one of mine and it doesn't work. I live on a farm. We treat the yard and etc. This winter, I carried every peice of furniture out of my living room where the dogs are gated so I'm hoping that will help me this Summer. But mine have only been outside two or three times on these warm days over the weekend and they are scratching already but i don't see anything. |
I have a quick question, I wonder if any dish liquid would work, or is there a special ingredient only found in dawn? |
