Angel Pup will be two week Sun have ? The pup looks like she has dandruff on her belly, a lot of flakes should I bathe her, haven't seen this before. I think she has to go to the vet this week for her two week visit. But I'm not happy with the vet, the pup didn't seem to be doing well to me, so I called the vet two hours before they closed and they wouldn't see me told me to go the emergency room, and it has been a couple of other things that made me think she wasn't comfortable with yourkies. So I'm in search for a good vet, just like my children I need to be comfortable with their doctor. Summary is the flaking normal? |
The flaking is most likely just dried urine. You might want to just take a damp warm washcloth and wipe her off and see if that helps. |
I agree with the washcloth idea:thumbup: It's hard to find a good vet sometimes, and if you don't trust your vet or feel that they are uncaring, definitely find a new one. How I found our present vet is that I went to the YTCA.org website and found a breeder in my area, then called and asked which vet she could recommend. If there aren't any breeders of Yorkies near you, check into other toy breed's organizations. They should be able to help you find a vet that is very knowledgeable of toy breeds, as they are NOT the same as bigger breeds. My old vet was nice, but dumb when it came to toy breeds and how quickly they can go downhill. I was ignorant of that as well, until I came here after the death of my Starr. Looking back with the stuff I learned here, my old vet was HORRIBLE. Nice, but horrible:cry: Keep asking around and you'll find a good vet:) |
I am a bit curious though, you said the pup did not seem to being doing well to you, how is she acting? Most people would not take their pups in for a two week checkup unless something was wrong. IMO, if she seems healthy then taking her to the vet would just stress her and the mom out and possibly expose them unnecessarily to who knows what. |
That's it my old vet said I needed to bring her in thats when they worm them first or something, and then a couple more weeks for shots, the pup is fine and definitely getting fat. She told me the pup was healthy. I took her in when she was born just because it was my first litter and I wanted to make sure the mom was ok. |

How old is the puppy? |

is the dandruff any where else? it also can be mites. |
It's only on her belly.... |
The mom licks her several times a day. |
I wouldn't worm the puppy if it's not needed. They should do a stool sample to check first. |
