Ears At what age do your babies ears begin to stand? Mine are 7 wks. today and only the little girls are standing. The other 3 boys are still down. The girl is the smallest. I have shaved their ears and only one of the boys looks like they might be trying to stand. |
Depending on the size of the ears and the thickness of the ear leathers it can take as long as 14 weeks for the ears to stand. If they haven't stood by 10 weeks than you may want to start taping them though to help them along. As long as you get them standing before the 6 month mark you have a good chance of them staying that way. Yorkies were originally a flpo earred breed and their ears were cropped to get them to stand so it's not that unusual to have a pup in the little that has resistant ears. |
I have 4 yorkies and only one of their ears stand up. |
I know it is early, but would taping help at this age? |
Make sure you shave the ears down close..yeah you could tape them up now and leave taped for a few days and let them rest and then retape them. They will be fine. |
Thank you! I have shave them down close. I guess I did it a couple of weeks ago, and then again on friday. Deb:D |
