Awww bugger. I thought for sure when I saw you posted she would have at least started. Poor baby.

I read about the temperature in Ann Seranne's book, "The Joy of Breeding Your Own Show Dog." It is a great book. She is one of the Mayfair girls. Great advice in this book. I was reading up today since Cici was a bit anxious and I was worried about eclampsia or if she was getting an infection from her C-section. The vet did not place her on antibiotic, but he believes not to interfer unless necessary. I kinda agree, but want to make sure if she needs it I get it for her fast. Her temp has been up around 102.3 with a regular digital themometer, since her c-section. But she is on a heating pad too. I have been giving her cottage cheese and her soft food and giving her water. She just doesn't want to leave her babies, so I am pampering her and bring her everything. She is not shaking, so far so good. I am just so nervous at this stage. I will be happier when the pups are older. The pups look good so far, nice and pink and full tummies. They go in on Monday for their tails and dewclaws.
Well, the book is really great and would recommend it.

It sounds like it will be a long wait for you. I wonder if pizza and a long walk would work like they say it does for human mommies???? No, just kiding! LOL

I love that book too, her chapters on genetics and breeding systems is great! An other great little book on whelping is Canine Reproduction and Whelping by Myra Savant Harris. It's small but it's mighty. There is a pic in it of an intact placenta and it explains how it actually surrounds the pup while it's in utero. Not like us and totally fascinating!

Ok I'm looking for that book right now...that sounds fascinating! :)

And haha, I don't think she could go for a walk...more like a "carry"...but she would certainly take some pizza I'm sure...:D

Okkk guys...temp was 100.1 about 3 hours ago...I just took it and it's 98.8! That's the lowest it has ever been. Could this be it? :eek:

I just saw that book (Canine Reproduction and Whelping by Myra Savant Harris) today on the web and you can read every other page of it. It looked really good.
I think you will have March 1st babies. Lets see how does that go - In like a lion and out like a lamb??

Well, keep us informed of her progress (or not) periodically .... you know we'll all be on here checking for news.....heck, we may all be so excited from waiting with you that we might all even stay up with you too:D

I think there's a good possibility...because when she DOES have them it will probably be in the middle of the night...;)
