Breeding question I have a girl that will not lay down or squat for a boy that is shorter than her. He can't mount her it is so funny to watch hime try.:D Last time I had to take them to the vet to be artificially inciminated. IF this is something that you might be able to give advice on that would be great for next time. Does anyone know about freezing sperm and how that works, If she is going to be a pain in letting it happen to her then I could have her inciminated repeatedly wather than make them both suffer from the trying and trying to do it naturally. Please give me advice. |
I would try to fold up a towel and put behind her for him to stand on and hold her (which you should be doing anyway) so that she can not pull away from her. I'm not sure about frozen, just because I've never dealt with it before. I would think that you could take them both to the vet an have it...um, "transferred"...right away without having to freeze it? Of course, that would only give them the equivalent of one tie...hmmm.... I hope you get some more input as I am interested to hear opinions on this as well.:) |
breeding Build him up to her height with towels, rugs as suggested....you can use a phone book with a throw rug over it..or have someone build a small wooden platform and cover it with carpeting... |
Oh yes, towels work wonders. Just hold your hand underneath the girl so that she spreads her legs a little, and push the towels up the back of her legs. He should be able to get her himself that way. ;) |
Thank you all Thank you all for your great suggestions, sorry I haven't responded sooner but I have been bed ridden with the flu. I have another question for you. I tried to hold him up last time she was in heat, she yelped alittle and tried to get away is that normal and should I keep hold of her? Or is it a first time thing like with women. |
I thought I was going to have to "assist" Peppee until he finally got the hole in one tonight! He is a bit shorter than Zoe but I guess practice makes perfect right? :D |
