Heat question.. My 4 yr old just went into heat today. She has also thrown up several times. She has addisons disease so I don't know if throwing up is normal when you go into heat or if she is sick and it is a coincidence she started her heat today? I would appreciate your input. |
Your dogs vomiting should have nothing to do with your female being in heat but vomiting is a symptom of Addison's disease. http://www.addisondogs.com/addisons/whatis.html It is possible the hormonal changes could make her Addison's disease worsen. Is she under the care of a vet? If it continues she might need to be checked by a vet. |
Thank you! Yes, we see a vet every 25 days for an injection. She sees him next week, but I will take her in sooner if she doesn't stop vomiting. |
Here is more information on Addison's disease. It sound like it could get pretty serious. The vomiting would really concern me. Make sure she does not get dehydrated. I would definitely take her to the vet in the morning if she throws up anymore. I hope she feels better soon. http://www.2ndchance.info/addison's.htm |
