what UAB registery? i've never heard of it :confused: :confused:

Well, I googled 'UAB registry' and came up with United All Breed Registry.

geez...that is all we need is another registery.....I think I will start one....sounds like a pretty good racket.....ha ha. Maybe it is something legit but I will stick with AKC thank you.

the reason i ask is because i'm buying a adult male yorkie from a breeder and she said they are registered with UAB do you think it's a good idea to get a yorkie from that registery? or should i stick with the akc yorkie breeders for a good quailty male?

I would stick with AKC. I am not familiar with the UAB registry. If you are looking for just a pet Yorkie then the registry is not as important and the health of the puppy and the parents. They need to be good representatives of the breed. I know many people register mixed breeds as purebred through some of these oddball registries.

Wow, I have never heard of that registry. There are so many registries out there now. I rather stick with AKC, even though I have 2 that are CKC. Good luck to you!

AKC is probably just about as bad as the other ones..I couldn't get them to help me at all when I sent them pictures of the so called akc pom I had and I had even sent in the paperwork and pictures..they supposedly lost my pictures..

you serious? I though akc was the best I didn't know they do that it's always good to keep copies of stuff when that happeneds

They are not perfect.....any body can loose paperwork, maybe they never received them. Regardless, I think AKC is the only registry that is really trying to keep breeders legitimate and the breeds pure. You don't find puppy mills using AKC because if you register more than 6 litters in one year you can eventually expect a visit from AKC. If your breeding facilities and records are not up to their standards then you will be given a warning and eventually suspended from using their registry if problems continue. They also require a DNA test on frequently used sires.

uabr is united all breed registry you can registered any purebred i think..its been a while since i looked at the paper work..my gidge is CKC, UAB, NAPDR, & APR
