Red Balloon...is this normal in breeding?
 
:eek: OMG!!! My male just bred with a female and after they pulled away from the initial hookup, I took everyone outside for a potty break.

I checked Chester and his red rocket was still sticking out...thing was, the top portion of his penis...closest to his belly was HUGE!!! It looked like the size of a quarter and was ballooned out.

IS THIS NORMAL?!?!?!?!

You didn't slip him a little Cialis did you so he could be livin large like Bob ...did you ?

:p haha! Villette, that's horrible!!!! :D My husband did tell me while I was helping them breed, "You're sick!" I told him that he won't be thinking that when I get the stud fee!!! :p

Anyway, the balloon has gone down, but I will tell you that it scared me to death. It looked like it was ready to pop any second. I just hope that he isn't too sore to breed her again. :( He doesn't even want to jump on the couch anymore. He waits for me to pick him up.

Oh POOR BABY !! I shouldn't joke about that poor boys little blow up - It probably WAS painful - I'm glad it went back down....I was kind of hoping someone would post about what to do when this happens - but it sounds like he may be ok in a few days - did you ask you vet what to do for the next time ? I'd have been a nervous wreck seeing that ....

ps...on the hubby - your right - once he sees the $$ come in he may come around and help next time - if he says anything you could sweetly say - "Oh Honey ...You're just jealous - you only wish YOU could get a stud fee"

The male dog has a gland at the base of his penis - the bulbus glandis - and when the aroused male penetrates the bitch during copulation and achieves a full erection, the gland enlarges to the size of a quarter (in a Yorkshire Terrier sized dog). The muscular walls of the bitch’s vagina grip the swollen bulb, so preventing the dog from withdrawing and maintaining the tie. The tie can last for just a few minutes up to an hour or so.

I'm sorry I still laughing! Yes it's normal!You should pull the forskin back over the end of the penis everytime if it doesn't go all the way back in! It's amassinghow big they are ! lily :animal-sm :aimeeyork

Now THAT'S Nature in action - wow - pretty amazing - thank you for posting that - it makes sense - the female is making SURE the male gets his business done and isn't just fooling around doesn't she ?

If the penis does not retract back into the sheath, the tip will swell casuing the "red balloon"..LOL You kill me.
Always check the male after breeding a to make sure all parts are back where they should be.

I'm still laughing! I'm so sorry! I remmber the first time I did a breeding for my mentor! I was so shock how big they were! He hubby and her got such a kick out of me ! I think her husband died still laughing at me! I just went on and on how big they were! She still laughs today at me when she thinks of it! lily

someone posted on another sections that her babies got "stuck" together after breeding.......lol........ i guess the female just didnt want to let go in that case

Lol.. that was me! haha.. they have gotten stuck 3 times there after.. and i just let them be and they undid them selves.. i guess when Ginger was ready..

My only concern is.. I'm scared he might damage his package when they get stuck.. because when they are in the position of love making.. and they get stuck.. Oreo sort of.. Turns around.. totally twisting his penis... so um.. is that normal as well?? or is Oreo just super duper flexible down there :eek:

You'd be surprised the the positions that they can turn up in. But it is important that you try to keep them still so that the bitch doesn't end up injuring the male. With my own two, I held them in my lap till they released. With this bitch, I made her lay down since she is so much bigger than my male. I tried to get Chester to lay down, but he wanted to stand.

Also, I called up my best friend last night and told her, "Chester was man handled by a sasquatch!" She died laughing. It was sad because after that, Chester was scared of her. He would take off running when she came around. :eek:

i woke up at 5am because they were stuck together and they were both barkin at each other lol.. so im kinda scared if we were to leave them alone.. they might get stuck together.. and she might hurt him ;)
