I would say, regardless to when the heat cycles are, you should wait until the female is at least 1 1/2 yrs of age. She needs to be a mature adult both emotionally and physically before she is ready to become a mommy. Plus, until she is an adult, you will not be able to tell if she is of a quality that she should be bred.
As far as being bred the second time, there are alot of factors that influence that as well. Some will breed 2 cycles and rest one, some rest every cycle in between. Alot will depend on how the first whelp/litter went overall. |
