Yarnall Kennels? Hear of them? 1 Attachment(s) Hello everyone! Has anyone heard of Yarnall Kennels in MO? I have been contacting breeders, finding out about their pups and I found this baby for a reasonable price and I was wondering if anyone has heard of her? She was VERY compliant when it came down to what I asked for. I asked for a picture of 'Tilly' (the puppy) with a sign of my name and the date...and what did I get? EXACTALLY THAT! Here's the pic... |

My advise would be to see the pup and see how these dogs are taken care of and then make your decision no matter how far you have to drive. |

I certainly agree. I sent you a pm with a name of an excellent breeder in northern Mi. |

Here is their site: www.yarnallkennels.com Seems like they breed several breeds--Yorkies, Maltese and Bulldogs, AND it looks like they are crossing breeds as well as they have "Morkies" too. They have quite a few (too many, IMO) pups available at this time. They advertise that they release and ship pups at 8 weeks  --waaaay too young.:( They don't restrict breeding the dogs in any way even though they don't guarantee they will be 'breeders.':thumbdown Their health guarantee ONLY covers genetic disorders IF you dog has to be put to sleep as a result--then they will only replace it with another dog. All of their dogs are ACA reg, so I would be cautious with that, given all of the other red flags. Their site has no pics or info on the parents and no pics of any of their offspring as adults. I would look elsewhere, but that's just my opinion. |

Misty I went to the website right away too and the same things jumped out at me. The Maltese on the first page really did look sick and a couple of the yorkies on pup pages. Hate to scare her but it sure doesn't look good to me and I would want to be lead in the right direction. If you have $700 or whatever I would wait until you have a bit more, since we have pointed out to others here that one vet visit could end up costing $1000 if you end up with a sick pup. There is another list of breeders that I will post you might want to look at too. I'll find it and post it for you. Joan |

Seriously, I wish I could give both of you a big HUGG!!! Most people (no YTers of course) would just ignore it and say I'll learn from my mistakes...but I am SOOOOOO glad you both helped me steer away from this! It really goes to show that you need to be a licenced investigator before you buy a puppy if you want to do it right. I'm holding out, hoping to get a YT baby...even if that means I don't get one this year. |
Glad to hear that you caught all that Courtney. Even more glad to know that you are taking your time and researching for the perfect pup and breeder and you are not being an 'impulse buyer.' These little guys are all so cute is is hard to resist sometimes.:p |
http://www.ytca.org/breeder4.html#MI these are members who belong to the yorkshire terrier club america and they have a code of ethics but of course you still have to check them out. I have heard great things about the name I sent you too but I don't know her. Scroll up and down to Michigan if Mi. doesn't come right up. |
