Sorry, I know you have heard all this before, but a 3lb. Yorkie/ 3 years old first litter/ and liver shunt on father's side, WOW! That's a handful. Just my opinion, but I couldn't breed my yorkie if she was only 3 lbs. That would really scare me. I read where it was an accident, I know. Mine are 6lbs, and 7lbs, and someday I hope to have the pitter patter of little paws, but only when she is old enough. She is 13 almost 14 months old now. So maybe in her next heat, I will let her and Rocky mate. I really wish you the best of luck with your baby. I will pray everything turns out alright. Dar. |
Welcome to YT I just wanted to say That It sounds like you really Love your little girl and are truely worried. I am sure that you Did not want her to get PG and Are doing all that you can to make sure she she is ok. I will keep you and her in my prayers. |
If this were my girl, I would have her deliver at the vets office just to make sure everything went smoothly, then have her spayed right away. Best of luck to you and your female. |
Delilah had one puppy a week before Christmas. It was breech and died during the delivery. As soon at the puppy starting coming out I could tell it was in the wrong position. We took her to our vet around the corner and he delivered the puppy but it was already too late. I gave Louis, my male, to my best friend since she didn't get a puppy. Both Delilah and Louis are doing great. The delivery didn't phase Delilah one bit just as the vet said. We got lucky. Thanks for all the support. Happy New Year. |

I am so sorry to hear about the puppy. But I am happy to hear Delilah is doing well. I was worried about her being so small. She has an angel looking out for her. dar. |
I am so sorry about your loss. I am so happy your little girl is doing well. |
So sorry for the loss. I would get her spayed so accidents like this don't happen again...IMO |
I am so sorry she lost the puppy. But happy she is doing ok. |
I just want to say first of all I am so sorry for the loss of your baby. It is hard even though you never got to know it. I am glad your female did ok. To the rest of the YT'ers who commented on this threwad, I want to say how extremely proud I am that your all gave your advise with compassion for both the OP and the yorkie. This is how this board is made great. So many people trying to help when someone comes on with an important question like this. You all make me so proud to be a member. Happy New Year! Sonya |

I'm so glad that this turned out okay for your little gal, I know it would have broken your heart to have lost her. Cherish her and keep her safe, little angels are for loving. |
I am very sorry to hear Delilah's singleton pup did not survive, but am glad to hear that she did well and is doing okay. |
God Bless you and Delailah |
i'm sorry you lost the puppy, at least delilah is ok. didn't you say the vet heard two heartbeats? |
Advice for first time breeding. Ok, first off I know many of you will say I should NOT have let my pups breed. I had both checked with two local vets and talked with three breeders in my area that said it would be fine. So our story goes like this. This was Lacie's First heat cycle(age 9 months) in a 3# female, very small be also very mature and healthly. Her mother is also 3# and used for breeding twice a year. Her sire is 3# also. Mother always has 4 pups in each litter avg. about 1.5 oz at birth and adult weight avg. 3# Gizmo was only 7 months and I wasn't sure he'd be ready yet. He figured it out. He is bigger almost 5#. Both I believe comes from smaller parents. I got him from Pam Hinkle here on YT. Questions: I saw tie ups from Dec. 14 - Dec. 19th. When should I begin counting days from??? the first? the Last? Between?? At what date should I be doing xrays?? Are they needed? What other dangers Do I need to know??? I have checked out the heat cycle link and have read as much as possible. But just thought I'd ask you all that have been there for your advice also. Thanks Dawn |
I get 2/15/08 from the first day of the tie. I would get an x-ray and schedule a c - section. Espescially if there is two or less pups. Good Luck. |
Are you serious! 9 months? I'll just never understand why people keep doing this, breeding and THEN asking questions. I really believe people just don't get the seriousness of this. I'm staying out of this now. Good luck to you and your "little" girl. |

 You bred two babies? Why? I can not believe ANY vet would be okay with that. At that age, how do you even know if they meet the standard or have any genetic issues? What you just did was equivalent to letting two 10 year olds (humans) have babies together. Neither one of those babies is even fully developed yet. And to be so tiny...3lbs is too small to breed. And her mother is bred twice a year??? That breeder should be ashamed of herself  You do NOT breed every heat cycle :thumbdown :thumbdown |
Did I read that right? You bred a 3 lb. female puppy to a 5 lb. male puppy?   And you ask about any dangers that you should be aware of?????????? :shocked7q :shocked7q :shocked7q |
