All I can say is thank heavens Hannah belonged to an experience breeder.
The end results could have been very different.
I am so sorry for the loss of the two little boys and am so happy Hannah
has a little girl to bond to and take care of. After all this poor baby
went through she deserves that.
Congratulations on your inner instint. It saved your beloved Hannah's'
life.

OMG You have been through alot.2 deliveries and the problems you have had to work through.I commend you!!
I do agree thank goodness she was with a knowledgeable breeder for she probably would of been lost and little miracle baby also.
Hopefully her eyes will open soon.I have had one litter of preemies and it was 20 days before they opend their eyes. Did Hanna ever get any milk back in?

No Hannahs milk didnt come back in so feeding "little Miracle" every 3 hours now..her eyes still arent open, since I have never had a preemie litter good to hear yours open at 20 days...today is day 19, Vet said if their not open by monday, which would be day 21 he wants to pry them open:(

is it safe to pry them open? what if they aren't developed enough? just curious because i've never heard or seen it done.

Can she nurse on your other Mother that just had a litter?

you know the more breeders Ive spoken to about preemies tend to agree they will open in time and no need to have them opened so we will sit and wait...its the best for this little one! She has had a rough beginning hell if I want to make it worse!!

She could be that would break Hannahs heart not to have her baby, Hannahs been through enough...so I continue to keep them both happy by doing all the feeding.

Kaline I might add if it is the advice of the "fertility specialist" to do so next week then I will do what they feel is necessary to keep little miracle safe. They have had many years experience and are a well respected breeders vet.

This is when I would have to default to the experts not the derranged individual (shall I say two or three derranged individuals with hidden identities and agendas) that can cut and paste an answer without any breeding experience, on another board...using my "Miracle" as a tool in their games.

I would go along with the fertility specialist too. I wasn't doubting your decision. I've honestly never heard or seen a babies eyes pried open. I figured it they were closed then it was for a good reason like the eyeball not being developed enough. When you go to the specialist please let us know what she says about this procedure. I think its very interesting and i'm sure it would be valuable knowledge to others if this ever happens to one of them.

I don't think she was referring to YOU.;)

K--Sorry that you tried to be open and honest with your experiences and this situation in an effort to do nothing but help others out and someone used your story for their entertainment. :( If the only way someone can feel good about themselves is by trying to discredit others that are trying to do good...well, that just demonstrates what kind of person they are. Don't let it get to you...the information you have provided here has already helped and saved others from going through the same heartache--there is NO shame in that!:) :thumbup:

hehe, thanks. i didn't want to step on toes or make it seem like i was pushing information because i honestly know nothing of this type of procedure and i think it would be interesting.

From what I've derived about wanting to pry the eyes open and per specialists...is that they are concerned with dry socket...that would probably the only reason they would want to attempt doing this....then of course it is the specialists call.
