Is It OK For My Pregnant Yorkie To Jump Off The Couch? I have a yorkie that is 40 days along now. Is it ok for her to still jump up and down off of the couch? Are there any things in particular I should not be letting her do?:animal-pa :animal-pa |
My pregnant girls aren't ever slowed down by their condition...that is until close to the end when they're big and fat. I'm sure it isn't healthy for them to jump off of things. I know of 2 dogs that jumped and hit their stomachs. They went into premature labor and lost babies so I wouldn't let yours to be on the safe side. |
I use the ottoman next to the couch and bed when Sun was expecting. She uses it to get up and down. Then she goes outside and wants to jump for the frisbie:eek: . |
When my Lexie was PG, she was always jumping up and down off the couch. It always made me a nervous wreck; still does even when she's not PG. I guess they kind of know their limits as to what they can and can't do, you just have to hope they don't lose their balance, slip, and fall. It's probably better that they don't do too much of the jumping around.....but my question was, "How do you STOP them from doing it?" Anyway, all turned out well with Lexie and I'm sure it will for your girl too. |
Maybe you can place a pillow or two on the floor so she'll land on something soft. |
I try to limit alot of the jumping later in pregnancy, I'm leery of the placentas detaching. I've seen high jumpers lose some early, could have been that never know...Just me. |
