Questions to ask inquiring buyers? I wanted to know some questions to ask interested buyers? I know a few that I want to ask. 1. Do you have small children? 2. Do you have any other pets? 3. Do you have a fenced in yard? 4. How long will the puppy be left home alone? Any other questions you ask your buyers? I have someone already interested in my lil girl and she is going to come over and meet me after Thanksgiving. So any help would be appreciated! :) |
Ask, are you a breeder. Do you intend to breed this dog, If you had pets before, what happened to them. Who is your vet? if you don't own your home, do you have permission to have pets. How many children do you have and what are their ages. Where will the puppy stay while you are at work. How many hours a day will it be alone and if crated, how long at a time will it be crated? Do you have a fenced yard. There are others but I can't remember them now. |
Here is the list of questions I ask people who want to adopt any of my fosters. Do you have other pets? If so what are their ages and breeds? Do you have any children? If so, what ages? What are your living arrangments? (House, Apt, own, rent?) If you rent do you have the landlords permission to have pets? Do you have a fenced in yard? Is this your first time owning a dog? Why do you want a this breed of dog specifically? Where will the dog stay during the day? How many hours a day will the dog be home alone? How will you exercise the dog? When you go out of town for vacation, what will you do with the dog? Do you agree that if at any time you are unable to care for this dog properly, she is to be returned to me? What issues do you forsee that you would give her up? Have you had any dogs in the past? If so, what happened to them? Have you ever given up a pet for any reason? IF so, why? What experiences have you had with yorkies? How do you plan to train your puppy? I do rescue and am very picky about where my babies go, so some of these question may or may not be useful to you. Since yorkies are fragile in comparison to other dogs, I would maybe ask a question to make sure how expensive vet bills can be if something does happen. Also if they have current dogs I call their vets to make sure their current dogs are UTD on shots and everything. |

Thanks guys! these are so great questions and I plan on printing them out to have with me when I have my interview with this lady who wants the lil girl. I hope she don't think I sound to extreme asking all these questions, hopefully she will understand that I want the best possible homes for my pups! |
Here's a few I like to ask as well as alot of the questions previously posted above: What kind of research have you done on owning a yorkie? Do you understand the needs of a toy breed? Do you live in a house, apt, rent, or own your home? If you rent does your landlord give you permission to own a dog? Would you object to me contacting your landlord for verification purposes? Will you abide by a spay/neuter contract? Is this your first time owning a dog? |
I ask a couple scenerio questions too...like "What if you found out your child was highly allergic to animals?" or "Tell me how to puppy proof a home" People think I'm nuts at first...but then they appreciate me asking lots of questions in the end |
Have you ever had a yorkie before? Why do you want to add one to your family? What do you know about yorkies personalities? Do you own or rent. If you rent can you provide me with proof that your landlord will allow the dog? What other pets do you have? Vet references? |
please don't worry about sounding too extreme. when i am looking to get a pet, i worry if the breeder dosen't ask enough questions. The first breeder i talked to when i was looking for copper only asked me if I wanted a boy or a girl, and when did I want to pick it up? I felt like she would have sold her little angels to anyone, so i found a person who I thought cared instead. If she is the right person for your little girl then she will understand:) |
