I assume puppies will cry if they are hungry??? Lexie's puppies are just over 4 weeks now and it seems that I hardly ever see Lexie feed them and when I do it doesn't seem to be for very long. She is in now way neglecting them or anything, but I just wonder how much are they getting from her? The pups are all seemingly healthy and happy, they are not crying like they are starving, so I suppose Lexie is feeding them more than I know. I have tried a little gruel with the pups a few times in the last couple of days, but they don't seem very interested (another clue that they are getting enough feeding time from mom), but would just like a little reassurance from others here. Is it time to think about weaning a bit, what's the best way to go about it, etc. Your guidance will be appreciated. Thanks:) |
1 Attachment(s) Have you tried adding some Espilac in with mooshy puppy food and warm it up? That is what my puppies like. Yes, they did not eat very much, but they at least got some food in them. You are doing good. Mine did not seem to cry to much if they were hungry they just ate it if they were and didn't if they wern't. Good luck with your little puppies. The picture is BamBam at 4 weeks old eating off the plate. LOL |
weaning Most 4 week olds will cry if they are not fed. Mom's milk is so rich, it does not take buckets to keep them happy and well fed..they would eat from a dish like they were hungry if they were..you may have to keep mom away for a few hours and let them get a bit hungry...you can feed them baby food meat off your finger if you are concerned they are not getting enough..best wishes |
Yes they will cry when hungry, abd will eat the gruel when they are hungry also. They are doing fine...how can they not be look who is looking after and worrying about them!!!! |
