litter and puppy size :) Someone told me to post my question in this section :) So here it is: Hello everyone, My little Bikini is 5 months and a half and weighs almost 4 pounds. I saw her sister that is near the 6 pounds and estimated to be 8 pounds. I also saw her brother (who is absolutely gorgeous) that is almost 6 pounds. Is it normal to have sibblings that can vary that much in size and looks? Bikini is the delicate one of the three. She is blue-gray and tan on the face. Her brother and sister are still black and tan. Did you ever see such a difference in a litter? Thank you, |
You can definitely have that kind of a difference in a litter. Genes are a funny thing and you can get throwbacks. |
Yes it happens. I now have 4 1/2 month old females and one is 6.1 and the other is 3.5 pounds. The dam is on the shorter cobbier side and the sire is up on leg but weighs only 5.5 pounds and the dam weighs 6 pounds. I'm going to continue to watch the 3.5 pound girl for show. She's ABSOLUTLEY GORGEOUS!!! I hope she grows. Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |
As others have said, it happens. Brydei is on the large size - structure wise - and is a beautiful gold. Her bother is small (under 5 lbs) and dark black with some steel blue/grey thrown in. They are two years old and look nothing alike. Funny how genes work :) |
that's so cute ;) I love it! I would have taken her brother too... they were such a good litter ;) An old woman took care of them and the mother. She gave them lots of attention and love. I can tell, they have such a great character and are well socialized! I just love the breed. Is it hard to become a breeder? |
Now that's a loaded question! I would definitely start researching here. |
