From Japan? Hello, We are living in Kanagawa Japan. Anyone else raising a Nihonken:animal36 Anyone from Japan? |
Yes!!!! I'm from Sapporo but live in San Francisco now. I'm getting my new yorkie baby in 2 weeks!!!:aimeeyork How about you??? |
Hello! Congratulations! You must be so excited for your new little yorkie furbaby! We have had our Chibimaru :animal36 for about 3 months now, he is now 6 months old! He's pretty genki, but fun. My husband is Japanese, oh and he used to live in San Diego, but he is from Hiroshima. I'm American and from Pennsylvania. We're living in Yamato shi. I'm liking Japan, and there are many dog lovers here! So how is Sapporo? Any site-seeing recommendations? |
I was born & raised in Japan. My mom's Japanese and my dad is American (mostly German) and was in the Army. I lived in Saitama & Kanagawa. I miss Japan! It's been almost 2 years since I was last there! I want to eat the cakes at Cozy Corner soooooooo bad! And real ramen! Nihon ni kaeritaii! I have one Yorkie, Jazzie, who will be nine years old in January. The Yorkie in my avatar is Jewel. She went to heaven in May. We are looking for a new little girl to love. |
Cozy corner? The food here is GREAT! Yes, I even love Natto (eat it every day w/lunch) Mmmm cakes! Where's Cozy Corner? Oh, you were born and raised in Japan?! I just assume you lived in Japan since your dad worked at the base. That explains why you call your furbaby chibi!!! Chibimaru ,who was born in Nagano, likes gohan and natto, and wakami, but I don't really feed it to him I just gave him a lick off my finger. (I'm afraid to make him sick!) My husband says he's a true Japanese! :animal36 |

Cozy Corner is usually at the train stations (at least it is in Saitama) it's a pretty large chain store. I love the fact that you don't need to cook if you live in Japan and still can have a healthy GOOD food to take home! Why cook when you can buy all you want at the specialty foods sections at the grocery stores! My shopping weakness in Japan (besides food?) dishes!!!! There are sooooo many choices from cute to artistic! Love it! It's funny, I feel more at home when I'm in Japan then I do living in California. In my area, there are a lot of Japanese restaurants and we even have a full grocery store so I shouldn't be complaining. After all I could be living in anther state where authentic Japanes food is scarce! Here are some pictures: 1. From Left to Right (my Aunt, Grandma & my mom) 2. Jazzie 3. Me at the Tokyo Dome at a Giants game. |
Thank you! 3 Attachment(s) Thank you for sharing your lovely pictures! I feel like we've met face-2-face. Your family looks so nice, Jazzie looks very sweet, and it looks like you are enjoying the game, or else someone surprised you! (oh, Jazzie like natto too! How funny! ) I'm so sorry for your loss of Jewel. Her pictures are really cute! I hadn't realized that the avatar was only one dog! Good luck finding a new little girl to love! I can't wait to see her picture when you do! You want to return to Japan! I think I will feel the same way, even being American! I should really enjoy, as much as I can, the food choices now. When we return to the U.S., whenever that will be, I know I will greatly miss the fresh fish, vegetables, and yes great, healthy, food you can buy out!(But I'm from Philly, maybe it's better in Cali) If Cozy Corner is near us, I will definately try it! Sorry, I hope I'm not making you miss Japan too much! Your lucky to be in Cali, we hope to find jobs there one day! We wanted to share some pictures with you too! 1)Takahiro and Chibi (3 months) at Yokohama Park(you probably know) 2)Chibi, 6 months now, already 3.6 kilo's! 3)Chibi and me, Jennifer This is fun! |
1 Attachment(s) Hi there!! Sorry for not responding for a while!!! And Hi to Corinne!!! I send you some PM in the past!!! Yes I miss Japanese food very much. I eat Natto every morning!!! I wonder if my furbaby will like Natto???? If you have a chance to go to Sapporo, you will love the food!!! We have some freshest food there. Winter is very cold but very pretty. If you don't mind the cold weather, try go to "Yuki-Matsuri" in Feb. It is awesome!!! I was born and raised in Sapporo until I came to US 18 years ago!!! So I am very much American now. Corinne, yes I love Japanese cake much better than US one... US cake is too sweet. Any luck finding baby girl yet??? Oh I hope you will find one soon!!!! Promise us that you will share some pictures!! I have attached picture of me and Momiji who I'm going to pick her up on Nov. 22!!! |
Your little one comes home?! What a sweet little girl! Today is the lucky day you get to pick her up! I love the excitement of a new baby(Y.T. that is)!!!:animal36 Momiji is such a interesting name, how did you decide upon that one? Does it have a meaning? Oh, I just give Chibi a lick of natto. It`s funny, but I like the sweets, especially cakes, here better because they aren`t too over-the-top sweet like in the U.S. I also love that Hagen Daaz has macha ice cream. But what I`m really missing is the food availablity in the U.S. mostly fruits, and baking supplies. It`s not as easy to find frozen cherries for example. Corinne: Any news in the new Y.T. little girl search? I too would love to see her pictures! Oh dear this post is so random, sorry!:) |
1 Attachment(s) Thank you, I am bias but I think she is cute!!! :D Momiji means maple/autumn color. Since she was born in autum and yorkie color changes when she grow older, I pick this name. My parents in Sapporo is so excited that they want to visit me!!! We've been talking on the phone every day as well!!!! Finally, they are grandparents!! ;) I miss all these Japanese food!!! Too bad, I won't be visiting for a while since Momiji is more important!!!! |
Wow, you must have put a lot of thought into that name! And I know what you mean about traveling, we can not travel either, until Chibi is a bit older. There are some great pet hotels here, but he is still a baby. Maybe your parents can visit you some day! I love that picture of Momiji. It looks like she is fetching your purse for you, but it is bigger that her! I am excited to see her pictures as she grows.:heart to |
Sorry to bump an old thread, but Yano, are you still in Kanagawa? I am at NAF Atsugi. Maybe we could meet up for a play-day sometime? Take care. Lisa |
From Chiba Hi, I noticed this section and had to post. Cool, I didn't know there was anyone from Japan here (new to YT forums...). That's great. I'm American, my husband is Japanese. We've been here in Japan not too long. I haven't got a yorkie baby yet... Does anyone know where to find a good breeder here? (Any recommendations?):animal-pa Thanks |

I know this is an old thread, but I'm trying to find some Yorkie puppies for sale in the Kanagawa area! Or even any Yorkie owners :) |
