Hi! I am a Malaysian too.. currently in PJ area. My baby's name is Benji and will be 4 mths soon (9th April). My bf and I got Benji from a home breeder in Subang about a month ago. Since Benji came home to us, he has been going in and out the vet clinic. The 1st time was for body check-up, vet said he has more white blood cells than red ones. And had to be on meds. And as he was getting better, he started coughing. My heart cried everytime seeing him cough and hack at home. Vet again, and Antibiotics again. Yet he refuses to take meds. So we had to force open his mouth to put the meds in him mouth. Everytime we do that, he cries and whimps. I feel really heartbroken and my bf had to assure me that this is for Benji's own good. =( |
Hi Benji owner, Sad to hear your matters. Yes, you r rite.....it's all for Benji good. I was wonder, first did you go back to your breeder frm subang.....ask the breeder further question. If the matters about 'white blood cell', it's means this is genatic. & they still sell you the yorkie. On the other hand, i understand your feeling toward Benji. If can, try to get second opinion or just follow back the current Vet's instruction. With best regards, Shawnie owner |
Hi Shawnie owner! No I didnt return to the breeder as the vet said it was harmless to Benji. Benji is really a baby. He is so quiet yet so active and playful. He loves running around the room and biting into anything he can get hold on. He loves sleeping on his baby couch too =) He is still on his antibiotics at the moment. I am only hoping that he gets well really soon. |
Hi, I just wanted to say welcome to both of you. Not sure how I could miss this thread :). Did the vet say what is wrong with Benji? Is it kennel cough? What did the vet say about the white blood cells more than the red ones? Is there something to worry about in the long term? |
Hi Potter! Thanx for ur concern over Benji. Vet never mentioned it was kennel cough tho i pray real hard that its not. He also mentioned that the white blood cells thingy would be harmless, so nothing to be worried about in long term. Benji baby is really active and playful, altho he looks a lil smaller than pups his age. He weighs 600g right now at 4 mths old.. =) |
