Are these cases animal protection and welfare? |
Oh my, that is just sad. I hope nothing like this ever happens to anyone on this forum. After reading the verdict of the Piper case and this I went and microchipped my last puppy who I was originally waiting on to put on more weight. Just another source of evidence that these pups are mine. |
I have mixed feelings on this, I've watched Hoarders and I know that it's really difficult to get the animals away from some people, even in the case of extreme neglect. These people don't mean to be cruel, but they are so out of touch with reality that they are being very abusive. This article talks about billing the owners for vet care even though the owner may not get the pet back, in my opinion, that is how it should be, who should have to pay for their vet care? Taxpayers? No thank you. I mean there are always abuses of any agency, but some of the stories sound a little sketchy. For example, the owner who accused of neglect because his horses were skinny: Quote:
lose weight while he continued to be overwhelmed? I do believe that a qualified veterinarian should be working with the SPCA to cut down on abuses. |
I think we need to carefully look at each animal raid individually and in its entirety before villifying an animal owner. I know some pretty sick people out there have animals and shouldn't. However, there are some rogue animal rights indoctrinated ACOs out there who will nitpick techinicalities to ruin a breeder, even absent evidence of cruelty or neglect. People, please just be careful of what you accept as fact. |

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: When they can swarm down and confiscate an entire kennel of breeding dogs because "the poor dogs were distraught, abused, starved, and clearly in need of emergent vet care", and then they get all those "poor, unfortunate, abused, neglected dogs" in wonderful healthy condition within 2-4 days......I dont know.....does not seem like horribly abused, neglected dogs....seems more like a case where 20-30 Yorkies can be swooped down and taken under trumped up, exaggerated, accusations, then resold by the confiscating agency for a tidy little profit for the agency......which has apparently happened in multiple cases up in the Dallas area....not worth all the aggravation and harrassment! |
