Here is an email I received from Subway today as well as my response -

Thank you for taking the time to write to us about your concern with our sponsorship of the Sportsman of the Year award on BET recently.

We certainly do not support what Michael Vick did or condone his past actions.

As sponsors of the BET program, our intention was to demonstrate our support for outstanding achievements. The winners of these awards were chosen by an independent panel and sponsors are not given any control or influence over the decision process.

Subway doesn't have a relationship with the current winner, Michael Vick, and we can assure you we are continuing to review and improve our advertising and promotional selection procedures.

Thank you for your input and for taking the time to write.

Was any board member or employee of Subway aware that Michael Vick was a nominee before he received the award? Has Subway ever been a sponsor of a show involving Michael Vick, and if so, what were the dates of the sponsorship? Until I receive a response to these questions, I will continue to boycott Subway.

I have been thinking about your post and feel that you have come up with a great idea. My husband and I both own Nike shoes. I have decided that we will buy new shoes, brands other than Nike, and will send our old Nikes to their headquarters in our new shoes' boxes with a letter explaining that we will no longer be buying or wearing their products until they come out disavowing any connection with Michael Vick.

Will others do the same?

Please join our fb page. July 17th is national day to return your Nike products for a refund and tell them why. We have several groups on FB boycotting Michael Vick. one is Boycott Michael Vick Endorsers. Another Subway, I forget the exact name but if you want the like it is posted in one of my above posts. We also now have (I bellieve) a boycott Nike page. Also, if you like Nike Page and go to discussions you can post your comments. YOu'll see many of us have already, just be sure to unlike it when you're done. Also please call Nike and tell them why you will not buy. I have two teenage sons that have called themselves which I think is leaves an even greater impact. Elaine

I had a very long conversation with a friend about Michael Vick. I have decided to forgive him for his past and pray for his future.

I can appreciate that Michael Vick the human being was driven by his own demons to make some terrible mistakes. I believe that of everyone. I believe he should be treated with basic respect and decency. I do NOT believe he should be celebrated as an athlete, nor do I want to help him achieve obscene levels of fame and fortune.
