Cruelty Free Products / Companies Once we locate some good sites (we can also paste the info into this thread so people don't have to click out if they don't want to) we could make a sticky. I know PETA is controversial...but they do have some good info on this subject. Link to animal ingredient list: Animal Ingredients List | PETA.org Link to search for companies by name, or type of product (ie shampoo): Search for Cruelty-Free Companies and Products | PETA.org Another list: Cruelty Free Companies - In Defense of Animals Halo pet products are cruelty free, and not too hard to find either. I may have to try those. |
Wonderful links!!! :D |
I found this link some time ago. Not all of us want to go vegan, but are concerned about the treatment of farm animals. Home | Certifedhumane.org |
Thanks for sharing! |
Good info, thanks for sharing. I like how the companies try to seem pet friendly nowadays by saying, "Final product not tested on animals." In other words other steps are, just not the final one. Pffft...cruel.:( |
Thanks for the lists. Of course out of everything I skimmed I use practically everything off the "animal tested" list.:( I'll have to check into things to see what I can change. I used to work in a hospital & they had a "secret" animal lab. It really was hard to find & unmarked. I was friend's with a housekeeper that had to service the area & she did not have good things to say. I used to always dream about breaking in there & "outing" the hospital...perhaps I can "out" them in a more peaceful (& logical) way. |

I found a really cool cruelty-free bag designer, I love her! The designer is called Melie Bianco...it's a wife/hubby team and she graduated from FIT in NYC. Melie has been in InStyle, Lucky, Vogue, and blah blee more stuff. I've never heard of her...? I got my first Melie bag on eBay, just last week...even though it's faux, it really has a nice texture compared to other faux's I've had. Very well crafted too. They only thing I wished is that they would use metal zippers, not plastic. I got this one, it's sort of a spin of a Chloe Padlock bag, a Birkin, and toss in a little bit of the current coveted Celine. Melie Bianco |
