Thanks Nancy this is so sad. It was a miracle Star lived that long. At least he was surrounded with humans that loved him when he passed.

Oh, this makes me sick to read she didn't make it. That poor baby, what she must have suffered. Now her suffering is over and she is free from all her pain and people that would be that cruel to do something like that. I too, believe that it was a young person that did it. A serial killer in the making. Well, RIP sweet Star, alot of people cared and was pulling for you. Love

I didn't know she had died until just now. I don't understand what she died from...I thought she was doing pretty well. I've thought about Star multiple times a day since reading her story....it just tears me apart. I can't fathom this act being done to this poor innocent loving creature. I hope they find that monster...and I won't say publicly what I think should be done to the perpetrator.

I wonder if they mean pancreatitis, or something different? It makes me wonder if maybe she ate something too fatty :(. Of course, her pancreas could have been injured due to the pellets too.

I can't get that picture of her head poking out of the ground out of my mind. I worry that whoever did this has done it many times before, and will do it again. A person doesn't start w/ what they did to Star - they start w/ something less cruel, and then progress. And you're right, that's how most serial killers start.

.....very, very sad to hear of this. I'm shocked at her passing. She looked so good in the pic of her after being found.

Star is a beautiful girl. I can't get over the pic of her with just her snout sticking up.

Star should be in the "Miracle Dog Hall of Fame", along with Patrick. How they can have endured such abuse and survive...with their spirit intact...is just amazing!! It makes me realize how much an understatement it is to call them 'man's best friend'.
