Ontario woman fined for online breeder bashing |
That's what happens when you can't speak freely. That is so stinkin sad! When did Canada become communist China? |
There has to be more to this story....it just doesn't make sense if the woman is telling the truth...it is very upsetting.:( |
The court documents are all here: One Bark at a Time: Dog court - including Reasons for Decision It seems really unfair! |
Well it certainly appears that Canada also needs to get some of their laws changed just like the US. How sad for the animals. Thanks for posting the whole article... |
How terrible! "...the law is not justice and never to confuse the two." Ain't that the truth! |
I do not understand how it was ruled libelous -- the very definition of libel is that what was printed was not true. If she had vet documentation that both dogs had the conditions she listed, why would they find her guilty? Very confusing -- I am betting she will win on appeal. |
That's rediculous! I sure hope she wins in appeal! |
Yep there's a lot of online breeder bashing going on. I say its ok if you know the facts to be true and have had PERSONAL experience with the breeder, seen for them selves that a dog/s have been mistreated or not cared for. I feel those breeders need to be stopped. but many ppl post hearsay or false information about breeders they have never meet. Those are the ones I feel should be fined. |

Your right.. and there are no laws in Quebec on puppy mills in Canada :eek: unless they have just started to act on them.. and it appears not by what I read.. |

Were talking Quebec... do they not run and rule Canada... What some of you might now know.. is Canada's first language is English.. we have 10 provinces..like your states... and all of Canada has to be bilingual for the French.. but it is against the law in Quebec to post English signs on store's, restaurants etc... Montreal has mostly English.. but if you drive through quebec.. you will not see Engish signs.. so not surprised on this ruling at all.. |
The mill was in quebec she was in Ontario and she is in big trouble. There is a fund started to help her. The thought is if you are in Canada you had better be careful about saying anything about a Canadain untl this is removed. JL |

Quedec laws are messed up around puppymills. Just cause the laws allow abuse does not mean we want quebec to leave the counrty. We that do work in mill stuff would like the province to change the laws and protect the inocent dogs. that is all. As for the politoca crude who cares just fix the laws so dogs do not suffer. JL |

But we have to be very careful as to what we say right now about another Canadain on line.. Good thing someone is not. the notice cam through the mill group I am at in Canada. JL |
