Jackson's back in agility! So I haven't taken an agility class with Jackson in at least 3 years? He will be 10 in October (nope, not letting October happen!) But still as energetic as ever. :p There is a place 5 mins up the road from my house that does agility classes - trainer is so nice. I can tell we're going to learn a lot and she can help me a lot (I'm sooo uncoordinated - anything Jax messes up on, isn't because of HIM, he's because of ME lmao) He was so in his element and he missed it so much. Also, weaves were always tough for us and this trainer uses a different method than we had previously and I think this way is going to work so much better. He picked up on it SO fast! Also, NADAC trials etc do not require teeters which is great because they always worry me - I wouldn't want him falling off if he got spooked or something. So we don't even have to do the teeter if we don't want. Going to add to this thread with updates. We purchased 10 classes that I can technically "drop in" whenever (I don't have to go on a specific night if I don't want or aren't available). :animal37 |
We would love to see pics! And by the way (a day late): :bigbdaypa :bigbdaypa :bigbdaypa |

Yay! We're gonna need videos, though! Lots of Jackson videos! Funny you're doing that. I pulled Jillie out of agility when she was 2 years old because I was worried about aggravating her mild luxating patella. But I set up a small course in the yard recently -- jumps, tunnels, teeter -- and she hasn't forgotten anything! I'm seriously thinking of entering her in her first trial next year. |
My Cali will be 10 next month and still runs agility every week. We even compete! And sure, usually the screw ups are my fault, not hers😁. She is in such great shape and I really believe it is due to the ongoing exercise she has gotten from agility - the old “use it or lose it” thing! And...Cali loves it:D |

I think I want to compete for the first time w/ Jax too just to see where it goes. It was always a goal of mine and then I put it on the back burner and wish I hadn't. He was SO happy at practice! Do you think Harper would be into any sports as well? |

Yes that is true. TDAA dogs are all under 20” high and they get extra time if they are over 7year old. |
Update: He's been killin' it! I want to try to get video one class but god he LOVES agility so much. I just love seeing how happy he is to work with me. |
That's great Brit. Go on having fun n good times with Jackson |
I've been thinking a lot about doing this with Flint in the future. Will be cool to come back to this thread to see all the updates! |
