Going Dock Diving SUnday! Our vacation was so very rainey and cold the pups did not get in the water enough, so tomorrow we go home, and then Sunday we go with all three pups for dock diving! Whooppee I just hope Toronto weather is kinder than what it has been up north. We delayed and delayed again today in the forlorn hope that the weather would clear up enough, early enough we could take the pups in. Alas it was not to be! :( |
I read your vacation thread and saw that it was too cold to enjoy the water much. We have been unseasonably cool here too. Wishing you sunshine and warmth for this weekend! |
I hope all goes well packing everything up in your new car and that you have a safe trip home. I also hope you have a wonderful time on Sunday. I was looking at photos of dogs dock diving today, and I thought of you and your special pups. |
So sorry it was cold on your vacation! Looking forward to seeing pictures of your pups having fun on Sunday! |
Boy, Gail, I wish Texas could trade weather with you all for a while! Sorry it was so rainy and chilly but the dock diving with those 3 babies of yours should be nothing but fun to come with hopefully lots of pictures. I haven't always posted as my neck has limited my time on YT but I read every word you post about Darla's development and life and times! Can't wait to see how she enjoys Sunday. |
I was feeling pretty good with today being the first time I've seen Gucci swim, but dock diving 5 pound yorkies! WOW! That sounds awesome! All the best on Sunday! |
Here is a thread that has a video from last year with Razzle jumping: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...le-course.html And he is more like 6.5 lbs but any size dog can do it! They just need to like the water and to swim:) |

Whoopee - What a Glorious Dayhttp://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin. It was sunny and warm, and we arrived on time (for a change), lovely property . it is a new place for us but the same instructor. Razzle Dazzle wowed the crowd again, I got lots of lovely compliments, but none for his shiney purple tieback/topknot:) So refreshing to see a confident wee doggie. We had a pit bull mix, who was wearing a muzzle, who was very interested in Razzle, needless to say Razzman was tight lead into me. But Heather tried to keep us on opposite sides of the pool. More I think to separate the Blackies from the Pitbull. He did 7ft 7inches as his longest jump! Such a good boy. A couple of times for what-ever reason he didn't find the ramp to exit the water. :):) Dara our puppy BRT, she did super super. Her first time off an official competition dock, and I think her longest jump was 8.5 ft. Dara did super well with all the dog folks, and was much admired for her beauty, and her courage in the jumping! Not to mention her friendliness. Magic did well, although for some reason the first jump he refused it. Seemed a bit confused, but once in the water, he got his dock diving legs under him and we were good to go! Just so you know the dock is lifted up about 2ft off the water, so that is a long way down for a Yorkie! Cost wise it was not too bad. $40 for Daras' lesson, and $25 for the two jumpers. We took lots of vids and pics - but my puter guy isn't back until the 26th; it will be a long two or so days till I get my media library un-corrupted:thumbdown:thumbdown With multiple dogs doing events like this, it is necessary that they know and accept their crates. Another good reason for crate training! |

Congrats on Guccis' swimming! |
Woohoo sounds like a GREAT weekend... can't wait to see some pics/videos!!! |
I can't wait to see the video's. I loved to watch my past girls swim, but dock diving is just to awesome for these wee lil pups, I am absolutely and totally impressed by their bravery. In all the years I have had yorkies, 4 all past, I never knew they had the capability to dive. 7 and 8 feet jumps, I am totally blown away, wish I could see these babies in person. Britsters Jackson is awesome, swimming and diving, I watched her video several times. Cannot wait to see yours. |
You must be so proud of your pups. I'm sure Razzle stunned the crowds, but Magic and Dara are also very impressive and beautiful. I love how much you love them. I can't wait to see your photos and videos. I hope you don't have to wait long to experience another memorable day like today, but I know that each day you spend with your pups is cherished by you and being with their mom each day brings them great you. |
