Tethering pup to me? J has is last injection in a week or so and after that we're looking forward to getting him out and about for walks. He now has a harness and I'll pop it on once a day before he eats because that seems to distract him from scratching it. I was wondering if tethering the leash to me (in the house) whilst he is in the harness would get him used to being controlled and also to the harness itself would be a good idea or is that a no, no. I could swear I read up on all this before we decided to get a dog but now he is here, the reality of this little chap has blown everything out of my head. |
And I've just realised I may have posted this in the wrong section due to tiredness. Sorry! |
Yes, I am all for the technique of tethering ! It is a great learning tool and can be used in all sorts of training measures from Potty training, boundaries and limits and of course walking on a leash. Do your research it worth it ! |
I've been tethering Gizmo to me since I first got him. It's been great yo help me learn his potty cues and keep him out of trouble. Since he's escaped his crate twice and didn't leave a mess I've become a little more lenient. |
